Analgesic Efficacy and Safety of Intrathecal Morphine or Intercostal Levobupivacaine in Lung Cancer Patients after Major Lung Resection Surgery by Videothoracoscopy: A Prospective Randomized Controlled Trial
Conclusions: ITM can be considered an adequate and satisfactory regional technique for the control of acute postoperative pain in VATS, compatible with the multimodal rehabilitation and early discharge protocols used in these types of surgeries.PMID:38610735 | PMC:PMC11012894 | DOI:10.3390/jcm13071972 (Source: Clinical Lung Cancer)

Immunohistochemical Evaluation of Renal Biopsy with Anti-PD1 and p53 to Solve the Dilemma between Platinum- and Pembrolizumab-Induced AKI: Case Report and Review
Discussion: Combining checkpoint inhibitors and platinum-based therapies may result in AKI. The standard method of examining kidney tissue may not provide sufficient information about the effects of these drugs on the kidneys. To address this issue, we recommend incorporating an assessment of the analysis of the expression of PDL1 and p53. This personalized approach will help identify the best treatment option for the patient while ensuring the best possible cancer treatment plan.PMID:38610593 | DOI:10.3390/jcm13071828 (Source: Clinical Lung Cancer)

Combination of BeGraft and Solaris Stent Grafts for the Covered Endovascular Reconstruction of Aortic Bifurcation-BS-CERAB Technique
Conclusions: This mid-term experience shows that the CERAB technique using the combination of BeGraft and Solaris stents grafts, for the endovascular treatment of severe aortoiliac atherosclerotic disease, may allow an effective reconstruction of the aortic bifurcation and iliac arteries related to high-patency and lower-reintervention rates.PMID:38610690 | DOI:10.3390/jcm13071925 (Source: Clinical Lung Cancer)

Clinical status and perspective on the application of immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer: a review
Chin Clin Oncol. 2024 Apr 8:cco-23-92. doi: 10.21037/cco-23-92. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe therapeutic landscape of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has been significantly improved by developing immunotherapy represented by programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) and programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI). Furthermore, immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy is an essential treatment strategy for driver-negative advanced NSCLC, especially in a population with PD-L1 <50%, and leads to long-term survival in the entire population regardless of the PD-L1 expression status. Prognostic and onco-immunological value of immune-related eRNAs-driven genes in lung adenocarcinoma
CONCLUSION: Above all, we constructed a prognostic risk signature with favorable predictive capacity in LUAD, which was significantly associated with malignant features, immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, and immunotherapy response and may provide clinical benefit in clinical decisions.PMID:38602568 | PMC:PMC11008071 | DOI:10.1007/s00432-024-05687-5 (Source: Clinical Lung Cancer)

HERC5 downregulation in non-small cell lung cancer is associated with altered energy metabolism and metastasis
CONCLUSIONS: Taken together, these results indicate that low HERC5 expression increases the metastatic potential of NSCLC in vitro and in vivo. Furthermore, HERC5-induced proteomic changes influence mitochondrial pathways, ultimately leading to alterations in energy metabolism and demonstrating its role as a new potential metastasis suppressor gene.PMID:38605423 | DOI:10.1186/s13046-024-03020-z (Source: Clinical Lung Cancer)
