Asymptomatic CMV Replication During Early Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Infection Is Associated With Lower CD4/CD8 Ratio During HIV Treatment
Conclusions. Subclinical CMV replication in blood cells during early HIV infection and younger age were associated with lower CD4/CD8 ratios during suppressive ART. The Spectrum of Serious Infections Among Patients Receiving Immune Checkpoint Blockade for the Treatment of Melanoma
The risk of infection among patients receiving immune checkpoint blockade is unknown. We retrospectively reviewed medical records of 740 patients with melanoma who received immune checkpoint blockers. Serious infection occurred in 54 patients (7.3%). Assessment of the Incubation Period for Invasive Listeriosis
We characterized incubation periods among outbreak-associated listeriosis cases, using a simulation model to account for patients with multiple exposure dates. Transmission of Drug-Resistant Leprosy in Guinea-Conakry Detected Using Molecular Epidemiological Approaches
Molecular drug susceptibility testing was performed on skin biopsies from 24 leprosy patients from Guinea-Conakry for the first time. We identified primary drug resistance in 4 cases and a dapsone-resistant cluster caused by the same strain. Efficacy and Safety of Sofosbuvir/Velpatasvir in Patients With Chronic Hepatitis C Virus Infection Receiving Opioid Substitution Therapy: Analysis of Phase 3 ASTRAL Trials
In this analysis of the ASTRAL trials (non-opioid substitution therapy [OST], n = 984; OST, n = 51) evaluating the once-daily, pan-genotypic regimen of sofosbuvir/velpatasvir for hepatitis C virus infection, OST did not impact completion, adherence, sustained virologic response (SVR12), or safety.
