Porphyromonas gingivalis with collagen immunization induces ACPA-positive rheumatoid arthritis in C3H mice
In conclusion, the C3H mouse model of Pg infection with collagen immunity demonstrated significant alterations in ACPA levels, citrullinated protein expression, and immune cell subpopulations, which could be a crucial factor leading to increased pain, inflammation, and bone destruction.PMID:38065368 | DOI:10.1016/j.clim.2023.109859 (Source: Clinical Immunology)

Tissue-resident memory T cells exhibit phenotypically and functionally heterogeneous in human physiological and pathological nasal mucosa
Clin Immunol. 2023 Dec 6;258:109860. doi: 10.1016/j.clim.2023.109860. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPathogens commonly enter mucosal barrier tissues and tissue-resident memory T cells (TRM) are essential for preventing mucosal lesions. However, the immunological properties of TRM cells in nasal mucosa are poorly known. In comparison with control tissues, decreasing CD103+ TRM cells were observed in Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNPs) and sinonasal inverted papilloma (SNIP), which presented high capability to produce effector cytokines. In CRSwNPs, we found that CD103+ TRM cells with higher cytokine and Granz...

Huanglian Jiedu Wan intervened with "Shi-Re Shanghuo" syndrome through regulating immune balance mediated by biomarker succinate
Clin Immunol. 2023 Dec 6:109861. doi: 10.1016/j.clim.2023.109861. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTWith increasing stress in daily life and work, subhealth conditions induced by "Shi-Re Shanghuo" syndrome was gradually universal. "Huanglian Jiedu Wan" (HLJDW) was the first new syndrome Chinese medicine approved for the treatment of "Shi-Re Shanghuo" with promising clinical efficacy. Preliminary small-sample clinical studies have identified some notable biomarkers (succinate, 4-hydroxynonenal, etc.). However, the correlation and underlying mechanism between these biomarkers of HLJDW intervention on "Shi-Re Shanghuo" syndrome r...

Two cases of pediatric primary immunodeficiency caused by a familial moesin(MSN)gene mutation
CONCLUSION: The primary immunodeficiency disease caused by MSN gene mutation is an X-linked recessive genetic disease that involves structural and functional damage to the respiratory system, and the worm-eaten appearance of the bronchial wall under endoscopy may be a relatively specific sign. The general manifestations of this disease are recurrent infections from 1 month to 6 months after birth, significantly reduced counts of lymphocytes and neutrophils, and decreased cellular and humoral immune function. Different types of MSN gene mutations and nonsense mutations at different sites have different clinical phenotypes. ...
