Body adipose tissue depots and treatment outcomes for women with breast cancer: A systematic review
CONCLUSION: This systematic review found an association between increased VAT and SAT with worse outcomes in patients with BC. However, due to the heterogeneity of the included studies, further research with homogeneous methodologies is necessary to better understand the impact of body adipose tissue depots on treatment outcomes. Such knowledge could lead to improved care for this patient population.PMID:38547637 | DOI:10.1016/j.clnu.2024.03.010 (Source: Clinical Genitourinary Cancer)

Quality of Life Outcomes Associated With Optimization of Treatment by Omitting Radiotherapy in Early Breast Cancer
CONCLUSIONS: Omission of RT was associated with better QoL and functional and cosmetic outcomes. It was highly acceptable to patients. Clinicians should consider the potential for preserved QoL associated with treatment optimization via omission of RT in treatment planning for patients with EBC.PMID:38548516 | DOI:10.1016/j.clbc.2024.03.002 (Source: Clinical Genitourinary Cancer)

Photoacoustic Imaging Radiomics to Identify Breast Cancer in BI-RADS 4 or 5 Lesions
CONCLUSIONS: The nomogram developed with BI-RADS and PAI radiomics score can effectively identify BC in BI-RADS 4 or 5 lesions. This technique has the potential to further improve early diagnostic accuracy for BC.PMID:38548517 | DOI:10.1016/j.clbc.2024.02.017 (Source: Clinical Genitourinary Cancer)

Real-world experience with pertuzumab and trastuzumab combined with chemotherapy in neoadjuvant treatment for patients with early-stage HER2-positive breast cancer: the NEOPERSUR study
CONCLUSION: Neoadjuvant pertuzumab and trastuzumab plus CT achieve high pCR rates in real-life patients with HER2-positive early BC, showing an acceptable safety profile. Innovative adjuvant strategies are essential in patients at high risk of distant disease recurrence.PMID:38538968 | DOI:10.1007/s12094-024-03440-5 (Source: Clinical Genitourinary Cancer)

The Correlation of Body Mass Index with Risk of Recurrence in Post-Menopausal Women with Breast Cancer Undergoing Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography
Conclusions: BMI seems to correlate with an increased rate of recurrence, especially in the breast, and a higher glucose uptake in post-menopausal patients with recurrent breast cancer.PMID:38541801 | DOI:10.3390/jcm13061575 (Source: Clinical Genitourinary Cancer)

Aromatase Inhibitors and Plasma Lipid Changes in Postmenopausal Women with Breast Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusions: Our results suggest that, despite statistically significant results, EXE and LET may not be sufficient to cause severe dyslipidemia in patients without cardiovascular comorbidities according to the AHA/ACC Guideline on the Management of Blood Cholesterol. However, the results may raise the question of monitoring the effects of AIs in patients, especially those with pre-existing cardiovascular risk factors such as dyslipidemia.PMID:38542042 | DOI:10.3390/jcm13061818 (Source: Clinical Genitourinary Cancer)

Decision regret of cancer patients after radiotherapy: results from a cross-sectional observational study at a large tertiary cancer center in Germany
CONCLUSIONS: The German version of the DRS could be used to assess decision regret in a diverse cohort of cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy. Decision regret was prevalent in a considerable proportion of patients. Further studies are necessary to validate these findings and obtain causal factors associated with decision regret after radiotherapy.PMID:38546873 | DOI:10.1007/s00432-024-05638-0 (Source: Clinical Genitourinary Cancer)
