A Case Report of Adalimumab Successfully Treated a Severe Plaque Psoriasis Patient with Psoriatic End-Stage Renal Disease
Clin Cosmet Investig Dermatol. 2023 Oct 12;16:2841-2846. doi: 10.2147/CCID.S420900. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTPsoriasis is a common chronic inflammatory skin disease that manifests itself not only on the skin but also on various tissues and organs of the body. While some psoriasis co-morbidities have been investigated, little is known about its association with impairment of renal function. In 2005, the concept of psoriatic nephropathy was first introduced by Indian nephrologists, suggesting a potential relationship between psoriasis and kidney disease. Adalimumab, a fully human recombinant immunoglobulin G1 monoclonal anti...

Up-Regulated Expression of ICAM1, MT1A, PTGS2, LCE3D, PPARD, and GM-CSF2 Following Solar Skincare Protection and Repair Strategies in a 3-Dimensional Reconstructed Human Skin Model
CONCLUSION: This study demonstrates that a specific solar protection and repair regime upregulated genes involved in photoprotection and repair mechanisms in a 3-dimensional (3D) reconstructed human-like skin model.PMID:37850108 | PMC:PMC10578178 | DOI:10.2147/CCID.S428170 (Source: Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology)

Treatment of Discoid Lupus Erythematosus with Upadacitinib: A Case Report
Clin Cosmet Investig Dermatol. 2023 Oct 9;16:2793-2800. doi: 10.2147/CCID.S419344. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTCutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) is a group of diseases within the spectrum of lupus that primarily manifests with skin lesions. Discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) is the most common subtype of CLE. Currently, there is no specific medication available for the treatment of CLE. Here, we reported the efficacy and safety of upadacitinib, a JAK1 selective inhibitor, in treating one DLE patient for 28 weeks. Upadacitinib 15mg QD alone improved DLE lesions significantly, while reduction of the drug to 15mg QOD led to a r...

Association Between the Diabetic Foot Ulcer and the Bacterial Colony of the Skin Based on 16S rRNA Gene Sequencing: An Observational Study
CONCLUSION: Changes in the abundance of Staphylococcus, Enhydrobacter, Corynebacterium_1, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas in the skin bacterial colonies can be the main causative factors for DFU. This study indicates that altering the microbiota composition of wounds may help the treatment of DFU.PMID:37841062 | PMC:PMC10576508 | DOI:10.2147/CCID.S425922 (Source: Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology)
