Perception of Healthcare Workers on the Integration of Electronic Health Records in Primary Health Centers in Nigeria
The study aim was to assess the perception of healthcare workers in primary healthcare centers toward the integration of EHRs into practice. A descriptive cross-sectional design was used. Out of 10 primary healthcare centers, 120 healthcare workers were selected by simple random sampling, whereas 109 questionnaires were fit for analysis. Data were collected using a questionnaire, and both descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analyses. The findings revealed that the healthcare workers disagreed on EHR integration. They believed that user resistance, missing funds, and unavailability of knowledgeable sup...

Content and Usability Validation of an Intelligent Virtual Conversation Assistant Used for Virtual Triage During the COVID-19 Pandemic in Brazil
This study aimed to describe the development process, content validation, and usability of a COVID-19 screening system incorporated into a chatbot-type intelligent virtual assistant (CoronaBot). This is a methodological research carried out in three phases. The first corresponded to the development of the flowchart and content of the virtual assistant, the second phase consisted of the implementation of the content in chatbot, and the third phase consisted of content validation. Data analysis was performed by agreement rate, content validity index, and kappa statistical test. Finally, in the third phase, the chatbot's usab...

The Effect of Game-Based Clinical Nursing Skills Mobile Application on Nursing Students
This study aimed to develop a game-based mobile application and evaluate nursing students' learning achievement and experiences using a mixed-methods design. The application was developed into eight games on different nursing skills. Thirty nursing students were instructed to use the application for a week in the one-group pretest-posttest study design. Their pretest and posttest knowledge, postlearning efficiency, satisfaction, and convenience were evaluated. The focus group interviews were conducted by dividing 15 students into three groups, and their experience of the application was analyzed using a qualitative themati...

The Inpatient Nursing Leadership Perspective of Using Mobile Technology at the Bedside
Introducing technology to support patient care in today's complex healthcare organizations can be innovative yet challenging. Managers are often not included in technology decisions that affect their nursing units, and less often is manager insight into the project taken into consideration. Studies that describe the executive-level role and information technology are helpful but not specific to managers' perspectives. The purpose of this project was to identify the factors related to managers' perceptions about the use of mobile technology at the bedside. Mobile technology includes using smartphones for communication and d...

Digital Health Literacy in Patients With Heart Failure in Times of Pandemic
This study sought to determine the effect of a digital health literacy program regarding knowledge and skills in the use of digital resources related to self-care and health empowerment for patients with heart failure. A cross-sectional pilot study was conducted before and after the program in patients (n = 28) with heart failure at a tertiary care center. Both a knowledge test and the Health Empowerment Scale were used with a Cronbach's α of 0.89. The information was processed using the statistical software Restudio, which allowed us to make a descriptive and inferential analysis. Seventy-five percent of the participants...

Development of Nursing Informatics Competence Scale for Korean Clinical Nurses
Much of the research on nursing informatics competence has been conducted in a Western context. Thus, this study aimed to develop the Korean Nursing Informatics Competence Assessment Scale for clinical nurses and to evaluate its validity and reliability. A total of 52 items were derived based on the hybrid model. After a content validity test by six experts and item evaluation by 20 nurses, the scale was revised to include 35 items. For this study, 214 nurses completed the nursing informatics competence assessment scale to verify the scale's reliability and validity. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed five factors compo...

A Pilot Study of Machine Learning–Based Algorithms to Assist Integrated Care for Older Community-Dwelling Adults
As life expectancy increases, there is a growing consensus on the development of integrated care encompassing the health and daily activities of older adults. In recent years, although the demand for machine learning applications in healthcare has increased, only a few studies have implemented machine learning–based systems in integrated care for older adults owing to the complex needs of older adults and the coarseness of the available data. Our study aims to explore the possibility of implementing machine learning decision-support algorithms in the integrated care of older community-dwelling adults. Our experiment uses...

An Innovative Approach to Remote Electronic Health Onboarding Record Education Amid a Global Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic required social and physical distancing to reduce the spread of disease. The reduction in meeting sizes made it difficult to offer traditional in-person EHR training to new and transferring employees. This paper aims to share how one nurse educator team used an innovative approach to transition traditional EHR onboarding education to synchronous remote learning during the global pandemic. Participants in the remote learning course (n = 94) were compared with those who had previously completed the traditional course (n = 110). Postcourse evaluations for each group were comparable. Remote learning parti...

Teaching Disaster Evacuation Management Education to Nursing Students Using Virtual Reality Mobile Game-Based Learning
The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of a virtual reality mobile game-based application for teaching disaster evacuation management education to nursing students. A pre-test, post-test, and final-test study design was used to compare traditional lecture group and game group instructional knowledge delivery effectiveness and instructional mode satisfaction. The statistical comparison of pre-test and post-test knowledge and decision-making scores did not reveal significant group differences for short-term improvement (P ≥ .05); however, final test scores revealed that the virtual reality mobile game-b...

Usability of Microsoft Teams and Stream in Nursing Education
This manuscript presents a technology acceptance and usability evaluation of an online software platform utilized for educating nursing students. Online nursing education is a complex and multifaceted process requiring nurse educators to be competent in technical informatics. Increasingly, nurse educators are asked to transform the traditional face-to-face classroom to include remote or hybrid experiences with little or no formal training. The pandemic may have created an atmosphere of stress and confusion while forcing a transition to an online learning environment. Recent trends in nursing education call for the increase...
