Quantitative analysis of the protective performance of bicycle helmet with multi-direction impact protection system in oblique impact tests
CONCLUSION: The findings indicated that helmets incorporating MIPS offer enhanced protection against various oblique impact loads. When assessing helmets for oblique impacts, the utilization of larger angle anvils and rear impacts might not adequately evaluate protective performance during an impact event. These findings will guide advancements in helmet design and the refinement of oblique impact test protocols.PMID:38490942 | DOI:10.1016/j.cjtee.2024.03.002 (Source: Chinese Journal of Traumatology)

Novel approach of plate assisted buttressing in Hoffa fracture
CONCLUSIONS: Fixation of Letenneur type I Hoffa fracture with cancellous screws and posterior buttress plate is effective, reliable and capable of providing adequate stability. Buttress plate assisted fixation is a valuable enhancement of the conventional technique of lag screw fixation of Hoffa fractures.PMID:38485604 | DOI:10.1016/j.cjtee.2024.02.003 (Source: Chinese Journal of Traumatology)

Risk factors and predictive model of cerebral edema after road traffic accidents-related traumatic brain injury
CONCLUSION: Our study found that the onset of CE in individuals with TBI resulting from RTAs was correlated with the severity of the injury. Specifically, those with more severe injuries experienced an earlier onset of CE. These findings suggest that there is a critical time window for clinical intervention in cases of CE secondary to TBI.PMID:38458896 | DOI:10.1016/j.cjtee.2024.02.001 (Source: Chinese Journal of Traumatology)
