Multimodal image fusion-assisted endoscopic evacuation of spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage
CONCLUSIONS: Compared with TC for the treatment of ICH, MINS is safer and more efficient in cleaning ICH, which improved the prognosis of the patients. In the future, a larger sample size clinical trial will be needed to evaluate its efficacy.PMID:38548574 | DOI:10.1016/j.cjtee.2024.03.006 (Source: Chinese Journal of Traumatology)

Management of multiple and displaced mandibular fractures in a pediatric patient sans mandibular immobilization, sans open reduction and internal fixation
Chin J Traumatol. 2024 Mar 8:S1008-1275(24)00031-2. doi: 10.1016/j.cjtee.2024.03.005. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMaxillofacial fractures in the pediatric population are generally managed by conservative approaches such as soft diet and medication or semi-invasive procedures namely inter-maxillary fixation or circum-mandibular wiring. These approaches are preferred over any invasive treatment to minimize injury to the growing skeleton and tooth germs. Displaced fractures that cause functional problems such as restricted mouth opening, malocclusion or impaired breathing, mandate open reduction and internal fixation. Howev...

A retrospective study of occlusal reconstruction in patients with old jaw fractures and dentition defects
CONCLUSION: Occlusal reconstruction of old jaw fractures and dentition defects requires a phased sequential comprehensive treatment, consisting of 3D spatial jaw correction, alveolar bone augmentation and soft tissue augmentation, and implant-supported occlusal reconstruction, achieving satisfactory clinical therapeutic efficacy.PMID:38514297 | DOI:10.1016/j.cjtee.2024.03.004 (Source: Chinese Journal of Traumatology)

A systematic analysis on global epidemiology and burden of foot fracture over three decades
CONCLUSIONS: The burden of foot fracture remains high globally, and it poses an enormous public health challenge, with population ageing. It is necessary to allocate more resources to the high-risk populations. Targeted realistic intervention policies and strategies are warranted.PMID:38508908 | DOI:10.1016/j.cjtee.2024.03.001 (Source: Chinese Journal of Traumatology)

Prediction of the burden of road traffic injuries in Iran by 2030: Prevalence, death, and disability-adjusted life years
CONCLUSION: The prevalence of road traffic injuries is predicted to increase, while the death and DALY rates of road traffic injuries show different patterns. Effective intervention programs and safety measures are necessary to prevent and reduce road traffic accidents. Different interventions should be designed and implemented specifically for different groups of pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, and motor vehicle drivers.PMID:38503589 | DOI:10.1016/j.cjtee.2024.02.004 (Source: Chinese Journal of Traumatology)

Quantitative analysis of the protective performance of bicycle helmet with multi-direction impact protection system in oblique impact tests
CONCLUSION: The findings indicated that helmets incorporating MIPS offer enhanced protection against various oblique impact loads. When assessing helmets for oblique impacts, the utilization of larger angle anvils and rear impacts might not adequately evaluate protective performance during an impact event. These findings will guide advancements in helmet design and the refinement of oblique impact test protocols.PMID:38490942 | DOI:10.1016/j.cjtee.2024.03.002 (Source: Chinese Journal of Traumatology)
