This syndrome occurs when there is abnormal contact between certain bones or soft tissues in the ankle, leading to pain, swelling, and limited range of motion. Traditionally, open surgery was the standard approach for treating AIS. However, with advancements in technology and surgical techniques, arthroscopic treatment has become a preferred ...

Analysis and approach to renal trauma: A five-year experience at a level I trauma centre in north India
CONCLUSION: Renal trauma predominantly occurs in young males, especially due to RTCs followed by fall from height. Focused assessment with sonography in trauma is not reliable in detecting renal injuries, other diagnostic tools such as contrast enhanced computed tomography torso should be considered in diagnosing and grading these injuries. Renal trauma usually does not occur in isolation. Majority are associated with other abdominal and extra abdominal injuries. Most of the times these injuries can be managed nonoperatively, which can achieve a low mortality. The patients who required surgery had high mortality as compare...

Acute portal vein thrombosis in an isolated, blunt, minor liver injury near the porta hepatis
We present a young trauma patient with isolated minor liver injury associated with acute PVT. A 27-year-old man presented to the emergency department after a motor vehicle collision. His primary survey findings were unremarkable. His secondary survey showed a large contusion (7 cm × 7 cm) at the epigastrium with marked tenderness and localized guarding. The CT angiography of the whole abdomen revealed liver injury grade 3 in hepatic segments 2/3 and 4b (according to the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma classification) extending near the porta hepatis with patent hepatic and portal veins and without other sol...

A foot structure study of new arch flexibility grading system based on three-dimensional arch volume
CONCLUSION: In cavus, rectus, and planus, different AVF accounts different percentage, but the difference is not statistically significant. AVF is evenly distributed in the arches of the feet at different heights. We further found the relationship between AHF and AVF is not significant. As a three-dimensional index, AVF may be able to describe the flexibility of the arch more comprehensively than AHF.PMID:37716873 | DOI:10.1016/j.cjtee.2023.09.002 (Source: Chinese Journal of Traumatology)
