PHF5A Promotes Proliferation and Migration of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
by Regulating of PI3K/AKT Pathway
This study aims to investigate the role of PHF5A in the proliferation and migration of NSCLC. Methods A549 and PC-9 PHF5A overexpression cell lines were constructed. PHF5A expression was decreased in H292 and H1299 cells by using siRNA. Flow cytometry was used to detect the cell cycle. MTT assay and clone formation assay were used to examine the proliferative ability of NSCLC, while migration assay and wound healing assay were performed to evaluate the ability of migration. Western blot analysis was used to measure the expressions of PI3K, p-AKT and the associated downstream factors. Results Up-regulation of PHF5A in A549 ...

Research Progress of Relationship between Pleural Deformation and
Visceral Pleural Invasion in Lung Cancer Manifesting as Ground-glass Opacity
Visceral pleural invasion (VPI) is one of the negative prognostic factors of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). With the popularization of computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer, more and more ground-glass nodule (GGN) have been found. However, it remains unclear whether the relationship between the pleural deformation of lung cancer manifesting as ground-glass opacity (GGO) and VPI affects the effect of sub-lobectomy, which is reviewed in this paper.

Review for N2 Sub-staging in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer
Patients with N2 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) were heterogeneous groups and required further stratification. The International Society for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) divided N2 into three sub-stages: N2 at a single station without N1 involvement (N2a1), N2 at a single station with N1 involvement (N2a2), and N2 at multiple stations (N2b). These new descriptors significantly distinguished the overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS), and recurrence pattern of patients with different N2 sub-stages. The OS and DFS of N2a1 were not sufficiently distinguished from N1 at multiple stations (N1b). The OS and D...

Advances in the Study of Tissue-resident Memory T Cells in Lung Cancer
Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have been widely used in the treatment of lung cancer, but the benefit population is limited and there is a lack of effective predictive markers of efficacy. Tissue-resident memory T cells (TRM) reside in tissues and exert anti-tumor effects by expressing the integrins CD103, CD49a or C-type lectin CD69 and immune checkpoint receptors. TRM expressing programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) is enriched with transcriptional products associated with cytotoxicity and enhances T cell (antigen) receptor (TCR)-mediated cytotoxicity. TRM is a promising biomarker for predicting the efficacy and prognosis ...

Correlation Analysis of Ki67 Expression and EGFR Mutation on the Risk of Recurrence and Metastasis in Postoperative Patients with Stage I Lung Adenocarcinoma
Background and objective The prognosis of stage I non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is generally good. However, some of the stage I NSCLC patients still may have early recurrence and metastasis, and there is no standard method to screen this part of the population. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between Ki67 expression as well as epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation and the risk of recurrence in postoperative patients with stage I lung adenocarcinoma. Methods We retrospectively enrolled 118 postoperative patients with stage I lung adenocarcinoma. EGFR mutation was tested using amplifi...

Efficacy of Osimertinib Combined with Bevacizumab in Advanced Non-small Cell
Lung Cancer Patients with Acquired EGFR T790M Mutation
Conclusion Our study demonstrated that adding bevacizumab to osimertinib could not show advantages in PFS and OS in pretreated NSCLC patients harboring EGFR T790M-mutation.

STE029 Overcomes EGFR-TKI Resistance in Human Lung Adenocarcinoma
This study aimed to investigate the reversal mechanism of EGFR-TKI resistance by STE029 in lung adenocarcinoma. Methods CCK8 test was used to test the cell viability and survival rate of EGFR mutated PC9 cell (Gefitinib sensitive), PC9/BB4 cell (acquired Gefitinib resistant), and EGFR wild type A549 cell after treatment of STE029, Gefitinib or combination of both. EdU test was applied to detect changes in cell cycle and Hoechst 33258 was applied to detect apoptosis rate in overcoming the EGFR-TKI resistance. The activity of EGFR/PI3K/Akt, cell cycle and apoptosis signal pathways were examined. In vivo, nude mice were expos...

Two Cases of TKI-resistant Small Cell Lung Cancer Transformation
in Advanced Adenocarcinoma and Literature Review
Treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation with EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) can achieve good disease control, but it will inevitably produce drug resistance. About 3%-10% of the resistance mechanism is small cell transformation. Two cases of stage IV lung adenocarcinoma with EGFR mutation were reported and the disease was controlled after EGFR-TKIs treatment. In case 1, progression-free survival (PFS) before small cell carcinoma transformation was 16 months, and in case 2, PFS before small cell carcinoma transformation was 24 month...

Research Progress of Immune Checkpoint TIGIT in Lung Cancer Immunotherapy
T cell immunoreceptor with immunoglobulin and immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibition motif domain (TIGIT) is a newly discovered immune checkpoint molecule, mainly expressed on the surface of T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. By binding to cluster of differentiation 155 (CD155) and other ligands, it inhibits T cell and NK cell-mediated immune responses and affects the tumor microenvironment. Multiple preclinical studies have demonstrated that the TIGIT/CD155 pathway plays a role in a variety of solid and hematological tumors. Clinical trials investigating TIGIT inhibitors alone or in combination with programmed cell ...
