Porphysome Engineered With Specific Protein Binding Sites as a Multimodal Theranostic Nanocarrier for Targeted Protein Delivery
Chem Biodivers. 2024 Apr 14:e202400348. doi: 10.1002/cbdv.202400348. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe immobilization of proteins on the surface of carriers is challenging due to the loss of protein structure and function in this process. Here, we report the development of the protein immobilization on the surface of the metallated-porphyrin complex in the porphysome nanocarrier. The conjugated Ni-porphyrin to fatty acid (as a tail) has been synthesized and independently placed at the depth of the bilayer center of Dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) in which the Ni-porphyrin was at the polar region of the membrane and i...

Chem Biodivers. 2024 Apr 14:e202302033. doi: 10.1002/cbdv.202302033. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTTo explore more potential fungicides with new scaffolds, thirty-seven norbornene carboxamide/sulfonamide derivatives were designed, synthesized, and assayed for inhibitory activity against six plant pathogenic fungi and oomycetes. The preliminary antifungal assay suggested that the title derivatives showed moderate to good antifungal activity against six plant pathogens. Especially, compound 6e presented excellent in vitro antifungal activity against Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (EC50 = 0.71 mg/L), which was substantially stronge...

Chemical Composition, Antioxidant, Acute Toxicity and Antinociceptive Activity of Aqueous Extract of Marrubium vulgare L
This study aimed to investigate the chemical composition, acute toxicity, and antinociceptive effects of the aqueous extract from M. vulgare leaves (AEMV). Antioxidant activity was evaluated using DPPH and reducing power assays. The chemical composition of AEMV was determined through LC-MS/MS, and the levels of total phenolics, flavonoids, and condensed tannins were quantified. Acute oral toxicity was assessed in male Swiss mice with a single oral dose of AEMV (1, 2, 5 g/kg). The analgesic impact was examined through writhing, hot plate, and formalin tests. Our findings not only confirmed the safety of the extract in anima...

Chem Biodivers. 2024 Apr 12:e202400507. doi: 10.1002/cbdv.202400507. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThree new C10 and C12 aliphatic δ-lactones (1-3), three new fatty acid methyl esters (4-6), and eight known compounds (7-14) were isolated from the marine Aureobasidium sp. LUO5. Their structures were established by detailed analyses of the NMR, HRESIMS, optical rotation, and ECD data. All isolates were tested for their inhibitory effects on nitric oxide production in LPS-induced BV-2 cells. Notably, compound 4 displayed the strongest inhibitory effect with the IC50 value of 120.3 nM.PMID:38606561 | DOI:10.1002/cbdv.20240050...
