Design, Synthesis and In vitro Antitubercular Effect of New Chalcone Derivatives Coupled with 1,2,3-Triazoles: A Computational Docking Techniques
Chem Biodivers. 2024 Mar 8:e202400389. doi: 10.1002/cbdv.202400389. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA very interesting foundation for this study is the creation of new methods for modifying compounds with a 1,2,3-triazole and chalcones, as these compounds are significant in organic synthesis as bioactive organic compounds. To contribute to the development of an efficient method for the conversion of antimicrobial and anti-TB drugs, a novel series of cyclohepta pyridinone fused 1,2,3-triazolyl chalcones were designed and synthesized. All the newly prepared scaffolds were characterized by IR, NMR (1H & 13C) and mass spectr...

Stable Isotope Tracer Technique and Network Pharmacology to Reveal Antidepressant Targets and Active Components of Xiaoyao San
Chem Biodivers. 2024 Mar 7:e202301736. doi: 10.1002/cbdv.202301736. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn recent years, the research of mitochondrial dysfunction in depression has drawn the focus of researchers. Our research group previously found that Xiaoyao San (XYS) has improved the mitochondrial structure and the blocked tricarboxylic acid cycle (TCA cycle) in the hippocampal tissue of chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) rats. However, the specific targets and active components of XYS remain unclear, and the potential to improve hippocampal mitochondrial TCA cycle disorder was also unexplored. In this research, a stra...

Potential Hepatprrotective Effect of Matricaria Pubescens on High-Fat Diet-Induced Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease in Rats
This study aimed to identify the phytochemical compounds of Matricaria pubescens by LC-MS/MS and evaluate the potential protective effect of its supplementation in high-fat diet (HFD)-induced non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in adult rats through modulation of oxidative stress and histopathological changes. Twenty-four male rats were randomly divided into four groups. The first group served as control and received the standard diet. The second group (HFD) received a high-fat diet only (30 % of sheep fat). The third group's (control+MP) animals received a standard diet supplemented with 5 % M. pubescens (w/w). The ...

Chem Biodivers. 2024 Mar 6:e202400327. doi: 10.1002/cbdv.202400327. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTFour new isocoumarins, alternariethers A-C (1-3) and alternariester (4) were separated from the fermentation of the fungus Alternaria malorum FL39, purified from Myoporum bontioides. Their structures were ascertained using NMR and HR-ESI-MS spectroscopy. For compound 4, the absolute configuration was solved with the help of ECD calculation and the DP4+ method. Compared with the positive control triadimefon, compound 1 showed more potent antifungal effects on Colletotrichum musae . The antifungal effects of compounds 1, 2, and ...

Discovery of 6-Acylamino/Sulfonamido Benzoxazolone with IL-6 Inhibitory Activity as Promising Therapeutic Agents for Ulcerative Colitis
Chem Biodivers. 2024 Mar 6:e202400031. doi: 10.1002/cbdv.202400031. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTUlcerative colitis has been widely concerned for its persistent upward trend and sustained overproduction of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 remains a crucial factor in UC development. Therefore, identification of new effective drugs to block inflammatory responses is an urgent and viable strategy for UC. In our research, twenty-three 6-acylamino/sulfonamido benzoxazolone derivatives were synthesized, characterized, and evaluated for anti-inflammatory activity against NO and IL-6 in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells. The resu...

Aloe juvenna Brandham & amp; S.Carter as  α-Amylase Inhibitor and Hypoglycaemic Agent with Anti-inflammatory Properties for Diabetes Management
This study describes the antidiabetic potentials and phytoconstituents of the A. juvenna leaves methanolic extract (AJME). Twenty-six phytoconstituents of AJME were described using HPLC/MS-MS. Lupeol and vitexin were isolated using column chromatography. The antidiabetic activity of AJME was investigated using an in vivo high-fat diet/streptozotocin-induced diabetic rat model and in vitro α-glucosidase and α-amylase inhibitory activity assays. AJME demonstrated its α-amylase inhibitory activity (IC50 = 313±39.9 ppm) with no effect on α-glucosidase. In vivo, AJME dose-dependently improved hyperglycaemia in a high-fat d...
