The feasibility and acceptability of an app ‐based intervention with brief behavioural support (APPROACH) to promote brisk walking in people diagnosed with breast, prostate and colorectal cancer in the UK
ConclusionsThis pilot study demonstrates that a large trial of the brisk walking intervention with behavioural support is both feasible and acceptable to people LWBC. The results support progression onto a confirmatory phase III trial to determine the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of the intervention. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Prognostic significance of glucose ‐lipid metabolic index in pancreatic cancer patients with diabetes mellitus
ConclusionsIR is associated with the outcome of PC patients with diabetes and higher level of IR indicates worse prognosis. GLMI has a good predictive value for PC with diabetes. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Retrospective analysis of clinical characteristics and outcomes of patients with carcinoma of unknown primary from three tertiary centers in Australia
ConclusionsIn this real-world cohort, CUP presentations were heterogenous. Overall survival and rates of systemic treatment were poor. Poor performance status and unfavorable risk were associated with worse survival. For most patients, site-specific therapy did not improve survival outcome. Improved and timely access to diagnostic tests and therapeutics for this group of patients is urgently required. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Nomogram for predicting pathological response to neoadjuvant treatment in patients with locally advanced gastric cancer: Data from a phase III clinical trial
ConclusionA good pathological response after neoadjuvant treatment was associated with an improved prognosis in LAGC patients. The nomogram we established exhibits a high predictive capability for GR, offering potential value in devising personalized and precise treatment strategies for LAGC patients. Complete DPYD genotyping combined with dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase phenotyping to prevent fluoropyrimidine toxicity: A retrospective study
ConclusionDue to insufficient numbers, our study was not able to demonstrate any added value ofDPYD genotyping using complete genome sequencing to prevent 5-FU toxicity. The optimal strategy for DPD screening before fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy requires further clinical evaluation. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Patterns of B ‐cell lymphocyte expression changes in pre‐ and post‐malignant prostate tissue are associated with prostate cancer progression
ConclusionsLongitudinal and spatial expression patterns of both CD3+ and CD20+ suggest that increased expression in benign glands during prostate carcinogenesis is associated with an aggressive disease course. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Physical function patient ‐reported outcomes among adolescent and young adult cancer survivors: A systematic review
ConclusionsThe results overwhelmingly demonstrate that AYAs post a cancer diagnosis have worse health-related quality of life from a physical function perspective than their cancer-free peers, providing a compelling argument for the need to address this issue. All but one of the studies were cross-sectional, which highlights the need for further assessment of this group longitudinally throughout their cancer journey. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Comparisons of financial hardship in cancer care by family structure and among those with and without minor children using nationally representative data
ConclusionsOur findings suggest that having minor children, and being a single adult are risk factors for cancer-related financial hardship. Financial vulnerability associated with family structure should be taken into consideration in healthcare, and especially cancer care. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Retrospective analysis of real ‐world prescribing data for managing cisplatin‐based chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting in China
ConclusionsThe current study reveals suboptimal utilization of recommended antiemetic drugs for managing cisplatin-based HEC-induced nausea and vomiting in China. Improving the management of CINV is crucial, and these findings provide valuable insights into optimizing antiemetic drug practices. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

MAIT cells are associated with responsiveness to neoadjuvant immunotherapy in COPD ‐associated NSCLC
ConclusionsIn patients with NSCLC and COPD, response to immunotherapy is associated with accumulation of CD8+ MAIT cells showing immune exhaustion. These findings may contribute to innovative approaches for immunotherapy targeting CD8+ MAIT cells. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

“Better at home”: Mixed methods report of intricacies in pediatric febrile neutropenia management
ConclusionEarly discharge of LR FN episodes positively impacts QoL, yet risk-stratified management for FN is intricately complex. Optimal FN management should prioritize the patient's overall health; shared decision-making is recommended and can improve care delivery. These results should be confirmed in a larger, more heterogeneous population. (Source: Cancer Medicine)
