Added value of whole ‐exome and RNA sequencing in advanced and refractory cancer patients with no molecular‐based treatment recommendation based on a 90‐gene panel
ConclusionsIn advanced and refractory cancer patients in whom no MBTR was recommended from TGP/aCGH, WES/RNA-Seq allowed to identify more alterations which may in turn, in a limited fraction of patients, lead to new MBTR. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Association of household net worth with healthcare costs after radical cystectomy using real ‐world data
ConclusionsLower HHNW conferred greater risk of costly inpatient encounters while greater HHNW had greater odds of less costly office visits, illustrating how financial flexibility fosters differences in healthcare utilization and lower costs. HHNW may serve as a proxy for financial flexibility and risk of financial hardship than income alone. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Toxicity profiles of immune checkpoint inhibitors for recurrent or metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma: A systematic review and meta ‐analysis
ConclusionsOur study suggests that the incidences of grade three or more trAEs, treatment-related deaths, and trAEs leading to discontinuation of treatment are low in R/M HNSCC patients treated with ICIs. PD-L1 inhibitors monotherapy may be safer compared with PD-1 inhibitors monotherapy and ICIs combination therapy. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Similar immune responses to alpha1 ‐oleate and Bacillus Calmette–Guérin treatment in patients with bladder cancer
ConclusionsThe cytokine response profile in alpha 1-oleate treated patients was similar to that reported in BCG treated patients, suggesting a significant overlap. A reduction in protein levels at the end of treatment coincided with inhibition of cancer-related gene expression in tissue biopsies, consistent with a positive treatment effect. Thus, in addition to killing tumor cells and inducing cell detachment, alpha 1-oleate is shown to activate a broad immune response with a protective potential. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Development and internal validation of a nomogram based on peripheral blood inflammatory markers for predicting prognosis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma
ConclusionOur findings confirmed the prognostic significance of the PWR and PIV in NPC. High PIV levels (>363.47) and low PWR ( ≤36.42) values are associated with worse OS in NPC patients. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Assessing EGFR ‐mutated NSCLC with bone metastasis: Clinical features and optimal treatment strategy
ConclusionsThe presence of BoM is a negative prognostic factor for NSCLC patients with an EGFR mutation, possibly due to the presence of extrathoracic metastases. However, adding AAT and denosumab, along with sequential osimertinib, to the treatment regimen for patients with BoM can improve survival outcomes. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Patterns of follow ‐up care in adult blood cancer survivors—Prospective evaluation of health‐related outcomes, resource use, and quality of life
ConclusionsPatients at high risk of relapse or late complications were preferentially treated by academic oncologists, while patients in stable condition requiring continuous monitoring were also seen by community oncologists, and patients with curable diseases in long-term remission by primary care physicians. For the latter, transfer of follow-up care from oncologists to well-informed primary care providers appears feasible. (Source: Cancer Medicine)
