Masculinizing hormone therapy effect on breast tissue: Changes in estrogen and androgen receptors in transgender female-to-male mastectomies
CONCLUSION: Increased androgen exposure is associated with lobular atrophy and gynecomastoid changes in breast parenchyma. Overall, ER and AR are expressed strongly in lobular epithelium in patients with prolonged androgen exposure. Exogenous testosterone does not appear to increase risk for breast cancer. Additional studies are needed to investigate the mechanism responsible for these changes at a cellular level and its role in cancer development.PMID:37951051 | DOI:10.1016/j.breast.2023.103596 (Source: Breast)

Exploring the clinical outcomes and safety profile of inetetamab treatment in metastatic breast cancer patients: A multicenter assessment of a Chinese-origin recombinant Anti-HER2 monoclonal antibody
CONCLUSION: Inetetamab demonstrates effectiveness with a manageable safety profile, offering a promising therapeutic option for HER2-positive breast cancer patients who have shown resistance to prior anti-HER2 treatments.PMID:37944341 | DOI:10.1016/j.breast.2023.103597 (Source: Breast)

Correlation between the CEM imaging characteristics and different molecular subtypes of breast cancer
CONCLUSION: CEM imaging features could distinguish BC molecular subtypes. In particular, TNBC showed oval or round tumor shape, rim enhancement, and swollen axillary lymph nodes, providing insights into the diagnosis and prognosis of TNBC.PMID:37925875 | DOI:10.1016/j.breast.2023.103595 (Source: Breast)

Benefit of postoperative regional nodal irradiation in patients receiving preoperative systemic therapy with docetaxel/carboplatin/trastuzumab/pertuzumab for HER2-positive breast cancer
CONCLUSION: With a rare incidence of LRR, RNI did not significantly affect LRR or DFS in patients with HER2-positive breast cancer after with PST-TCHP. However, intensive systemic treatment is required for advanced diseases (C/D). Selective de-intensified RNI and intensified systemic treatment should be investigated in future studies.PMID:37924622 | DOI:10.1016/j.breast.2023.103594 (Source: Breast)

Trends in the pre-operative diagnosis and surgical management of axillary lymph node metastases in women with screen-detected breast cancer
CONCLUSION: Pre-operative confirmation of axillary lymph node metastasis by ultrasound-guided biopsy did not rise despite the increased use of CNB at the expense of less invasive FNAB. A significant reduction in ALND was observed through the years.PMID:37890215 | PMC:PMC10624574 | DOI:10.1016/j.breast.2023.103593 (Source: Breast)
