To investigate the efficacy and life quality on the treatment of advanced unresectable differentiated thyroid carcinoma with 125I seeds implantation. Methods 11 lesions in 8 cases of advanced unresectable differentiated thyroid cancer undergone 125I seeds implantnation with the B ultrasound and CT guided were analysised retrospectively. The activity of 125I seeds ranged from 0.5mCi-0.7mCi.The D90(The dose received by 90% of target volume)of the tumor ranged from 74.6 to 138.8Gy shown by post plan. (Source: Brachytherapy)

Surgery and radiation therapy are standard treatments for lip cancer. Surgery includes removal of all cancer-related tissue and facial reconstruction (cosmetic and functional) of the lips. Reconstruction procedures are available but give a less satisfactory cosmetic result than brachytherapy. In addition, the use of high-dose-rate brachytherapy (HDR-BT) is now becoming more popular than low-dose-rate (LDR) and pulsed-dose-rate (PDR) BT in the treatment of lip cancer since HDR-BT offers the advantage of optimizing dose distribution by varying dwell times. Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is the second most common breast cancer histology, classically defined by its “single file” appearance and multifocal presentation. Historically this cohort of patients has been considered cautionary for accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI), given concern for increased risks of recurrence and under-representation on randomized controlled trials. In Japan, cylindrical excisions are commonly performed in partial mastectomies for breast-conserving therapy, as opposed to the typical lumpectomies. Hence, when implementing Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI) with the use of SAVI, a multi-lumen single catheter for partial breast irradiation with brachytherapy, discrepancies were noted between the shape of the excision cavity and the SAVI. Our institution reexamined the correlation between the form of the excision cavity and the shape of SAVI in instances of APBI that utilized post-operative SAVI insertion. (Source: Brachytherapy)

Worldwide, non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) has a high incidence. In 2020, Colombia, a Latin American country, had a NMSC incidence of 7.9 per 100.000 inhabitants. High Dose Rate (HDR) skin brachytherapy is a validated treatment option, with optimal and promising local control rates and cosmetic results, equivalent to surgical management and external radiation therapy. Nevertheless, this treatment technique may be scarce in Low Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), due to personnel training and technology requirements. (Source: Brachytherapy)
