Assessment and Management of Patients with Obesity and Hypertension in European Society of Hypertension Excellence Centres. A survey from the ESH Working Group on Diabetes and Metabolic Risk Factors
CONCLUSION: Most clinicians in ESH ECs are well educated regarding obesity-associated hypertension, and clinics are sufficiently equipped to manage these patients, as well. However, several deficits were reported regarding efforts to address and implement obesity specific aspects and interventions to improve care in patients with obesity and hypertension.PMID:38407195 | DOI:10.1080/08037051.2024.2317256 (Source: Blood Pressure)

Habitual food consumption, eating behavior and meal-timing among Jordanian adults with elevated Blood pressure: a cross-sectional population-based study
CONCLUSIONS: Although Jordanian adults with elevated BP appear to have healthy eating habits and meal timing and frequency, their habitual food consumption falls short of the daily recommendations for milk, fruits, vegetables, and protein.PMID:38312098 | DOI:10.1080/08037051.2024.2310257 (Source: Blood Pressure)

The relationship between mid-upper arm circumference and blood pressure in Walter Sisulu University community
Blood Press. 2024 Dec;33(1):2296904. doi: 10.1080/08037051.2023.2296904. Epub 2024 Jan 22.ABSTRACTPrevalence of hypertension is increasing to higher levels in South Africa. Anthropometric measures for obesity are well known to predict the development of hypertension. However, the relationship between mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) and blood pressure (BP) is scant in South African communities such as universities. Therefore, this study was aimed at investigating the correlation between MUAC and BP among the community of Walter Sisulu University (WSU). A total of 230 participants from WSU (students and staff members), 11...

Cuffless Blood Pressure in clinical practice: challenges, opportunities and current limits
Conclusion: The emergence of these new technologies shifts the paradigm of cardiovascular health management, presenting a new possibility for non-invasive continuous and dynamic monitoring. The concept of cuffless blood pressure measurement is viable and more finely tuned devices are expected to enter the market, which could redefine our understanding of blood pressure and hypertension.PMID:38245864 | DOI:10.1080/08037051.2024.2304190 (Source: Blood Pressure)
