Banxia Xiexin decoction ameliorates dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) ‐induced ulcerative colitis via inhibiting serine‐threonine protein kinase (Akt)/mitogen‐activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway
AbstractBanxia Xiexin decoction (BXD), a traditional Chinese medicine, was widely used in treating ulcerative colitis (UC). However, the active components of BXD and its mechanism in UC remain elusive. Therefore, we used network pharmacology in vivo experiments, molecular docking, and surface plasmon resonance strategy (SPR) to uncover BXD's potential mechanism. A UC rat model was established by orally administering 7% dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) in drinking water, BXD and palmatine were orally administered for 7  days. Network pharmacology was used to investigate the main bioactive components and crucial targets of BXD ...

Identification of novel inhibitor against human phosphoethanolamine cytidylyltransferase from phytochemicals of Citrus sinensis peel extract by in vitro and in silico approach
AbstractKidney stone is a major global menace that demands research on nonsurgical treatment involving biological compounds for the benefit of the patients. Among the biological extracts, citric acid is traditionally used to dissolve kidney stones. The current research focuses on evaluating the in vitro anti-urolithiatic activity and in silico study of ethanolic extract ofCitrus sinensis (ECS) peel against c: phosphoethanolamine cytidylyltransferase (PCYT). The diuretic activity was evaluated using in vitro model against the synthesized calcium oxalate crystals and cytotoxicity study in Madin –Darby canine kidney cell li...

Design and experimental study on closed ‐loop process of preparing chitosan from crab shells
AbstractThe purpose of this article is to design a green and comprehensive utilization process for preparing chitosan from crab shells. Glutamate acid was used as a decalcifying agent for crab shells, and the mixed solution of potassium hydroxide/isopropanol was used for deproteinization and deacetylation to prepare chitosan. Glutamic acid and isopropanol could be recovered for recycling. At the same time, calcium carbonate and protein in crab shells were converted into calcium hydrogen phosphate and compound fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, respectively. The prepared chitosan was characterized by...
