Association of Serum Folate and Vitamin B < sub > 12 < /sub > Concentrations with Obesity in Chinese Children and Adolescents
CONCLUSION: Higher serum vitamin B 12 concentrations, but not serum folate concentrations, were associated with lower odds of childhood obesity. Children and adolescents with high levels of vitamin B 12 and folate were less likely to be obese.PMID:38582989 | DOI:10.3967/bes2024.028 (Source: Biomedical and Environmental Sciences : BES)

Species-level Microbiota of Biting Midges and Ticks from Poyang Lake
CONCLUSION: Biting midges and ticks carry large numbers of known and potentially novel bacteria, and carry a wide range of potentially pathogenic bacteria, which may pose a risk of infection to humans and animals. The microbial communities of midges and ticks tend to be dominated by a few highly abundant bacteria.PMID:38582991 | DOI:10.3967/bes2024.030 (Source: Biomedical and Environmental Sciences : BES)

Epidemiological Surveillance: Genetic Diversity of Rotavirus Group A in the Pearl River Delta, Guangdong, China in 2019
CONCLUSION: This study provides molecular evidence of RVA prevalence in the Pearl River Delta region of China, further enriching the existing information on its genetics and evolutionary characteristics and suggesting the emergence of genetic diversity. Strengthening the surveillance of genotypic changes and gene reassortment in RVA strains is essential for further research and a better understanding of strain variations for further vaccine development.PMID:38582992 | DOI:10.3967/bes2024.031 (Source: Biomedical and Environmental Sciences : BES)
