Co-Occurrence Analysis of COVID-19 Publications with an Emphasis on the Global Health Governance (GHG)
CONCLUSION: The global approach of studies related to COVID-19 is more inclined to the epidemiological and public health fields. Assuming the GHG, detailed and comprehensive planning should be performed to strengthen these studies and pave the way for international cooperation, determining research requisites, and developing applied research studies.PMID:38525400 | PMC:PMC10958719 | DOI:10.4103/abr.abr_344_23 (Source: Biomed Res)

A Rare Case of Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome with Von Willebrand Factor Deficiency and Multiple Accessory Spleens: A Case Report and Brief Literature Review
We present a 13-year-old son with a typical clinical manifestation of KTS, including "port-wine stains" as capillary malformation, venous malformation, and hypertrophy of the left lower extremity, who also suffers from von Willebrand Disease type 3. He has been suffering from these two rare conditions since birth. The occurrence of KTS with von Willebrand Factor deficiency in a patient has so far not been reported, which may propose a mutation in the putative common regulatory gene that caused this uncommon phenotype.PMID:38525403 | PMC:PMC10958732 | DOI:10.4103/abr.abr_232_23 (Source: Biomed Res)

Ovarian Yolk Sac Tumors: Is Fertility Preservation Possible?
In this study, we described three patients with ovarian yolk sac tumors and their fertility preservation treatments. These cases has reminded that in young age with high AFP levels and rapidly growing ovarian mass, diagnosis of the yolk sac tumor has to be kept in mind.PMID:38525405 | PMC:PMC10958718 | DOI:10.4103/abr.abr_112_21 (Source: Biomed Res)

Prospective Analysis of Lipid Variations in Hyperthyroid Subjects from Lahore, Pakistan
Biomed Res Int. 2021 Sep 3;2021:9936782. doi: 10.1155/2021/9936782. eCollection 2021.ABSTRACTPerturbations in the actions of T3 and T4 influence the normal metabolic pathways. Responsiveness of lipid biomarkers like LDL-C, HDL-C, TC, TG, Apo-A, and Apo-B after rehabilitation of thyroid profile attaining euthyroid state was determined. A total of 179 age-matched subjects of both genders were recruited for this research. Sixty healthy controls, thirty-four subclinical, fifty overt hyperthyroid, and thirty-five follow-up subjects having 3 months of Carbimazole therapy were enrolled. Biochemical analysis was performed by chemi...

Different Presentation and Outcomes in the Surgical Treatment of Advanced MRONJ in Oncological and Nononcological Patients Taking or Not Corticosteroid Therapy
Biomed Res Int. 2021 Aug 25;2021:7855497. doi: 10.1155/2021/7855497. eCollection 2021.ABSTRACTMedication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) is a severe side effect caused by antiangiogenic antiresorptive drugs used to treat various oncological and non oncological diseases. The clinical and radiological characteristics of MRONJ depend on the type of causative drug, the time of administration, and its dosage. Proven systemic risk factors like anemia, uncontrolled diabetes, corticosteroid therapy, and chemotherapy in neoplastic diseases (e.g., high doses of methotrexate up to 30 mg daily) significantly increase the chan...

Investigating the Effect of Aspirin on apoAI-Induced ATP Binding Cassette Transporter 1 Protein Expression and Cholesterol Efflux in Human Astrocytes
CONCLUSIONS: The results suggest a potential role of aspirin in increasing ABCA1 expression and cholesterol efflux in astrocytes, similar to the effect of apoA-I. This indicates that aspirin could potentially regulate brain cholesterol balance and can be considered in certain neurological diseases, in particular in some neurological disorders related to cholesterol accumulation such as Alzheimer's disease.PMID:38525390 | PMC:PMC10958728 | DOI:10.4103/abr.abr_417_22 (Source: Biomed Res)

The Efficacy of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) versus Transcranial Direct-Current Stimulation (tDCS) on Migraine Headaches: A Randomized Clinical Trial
CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that both rTMS and tDCS may be effective in reducing pain intensity and improving the impact of headaches on daily life and anxiety in patients with chronic migraine. However, significant improvement in depression was only observed in the rTMS group patients.PMID:38525392 | PMC:PMC10958735 | DOI:10.4103/abr.abr_142_23 (Source: Biomed Res)
