Investigating the Effect of Aspirin on apoAI-Induced ATP Binding Cassette Transporter 1 Protein Expression and Cholesterol Efflux in Human Astrocytes
CONCLUSIONS: The results suggest a potential role of aspirin in increasing ABCA1 expression and cholesterol efflux in astrocytes, similar to the effect of apoA-I. This indicates that aspirin could potentially regulate brain cholesterol balance and can be considered in certain neurological diseases, in particular in some neurological disorders related to cholesterol accumulation such as Alzheimer's disease.PMID:38525390 | PMC:PMC10958728 | DOI:10.4103/abr.abr_417_22 (Source: Biomed Res)

The Efficacy of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) versus Transcranial Direct-Current Stimulation (tDCS) on Migraine Headaches: A Randomized Clinical Trial
CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that both rTMS and tDCS may be effective in reducing pain intensity and improving the impact of headaches on daily life and anxiety in patients with chronic migraine. However, significant improvement in depression was only observed in the rTMS group patients.PMID:38525392 | PMC:PMC10958735 | DOI:10.4103/abr.abr_142_23 (Source: Biomed Res)

The Effect of Dextrose Hypotonic vs Saline Hydration on Methotrexate-Induced Nephrotoxicity in Male and Female Rats
CONCLUSION: Based on the findings of this study, hydration with N/S was superior to DW5% for the prevention from HDMTX-induced nephrotoxicity. Besides, we found insignificant differences between male versus female rats in response to the hydration for HDMTX-induced renoprotection; however, females probably benefit more.PMID:38525397 | PMC:PMC10958733 | DOI:10.4103/abr.abr_269_22 (Source: Biomed Res)

The Application of Artificial Intelligence and Drug Repositioning for the Identification of Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor Inhibitors: A Review
Adv Biomed Res. 2024 Jan 30;13:9. doi: 10.4103/abr.abr_170_23. eCollection 2024.ABSTRACTArtificial intelligence talks about modeling intelligent behavior through a computer with the least human involvement. Drug repositioning techniques based on artificial intelligence accelerate the research process and decrease the cost of experimental studies. Dysregulation of fibroblast growth factor (FGF) receptors as the tyrosine kinase family of receptors plays a vital role in a wide range of malignancies. Because of their functional significance, they were considered promising drug targets for the therapy of various cancers. This r...

Quality of Life in Patients with Phenylketonuria: A Systematic Review
This article reviews current researches on the impact of PKU on QoL. The review examines factors that may influence QoL, such as age, metabolic control, and treatment adherence. In this systematic review study, relevant articles were identified using a search strategy built with the keywords phenylketonuria, PKU, or hyperphenylalaninemia (or their synonyms) and QoL in Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed databases. After identifying the articles, duplicates, reviews, scientific abstracts, articles published in languages other than English, and non relevant studies were excluded. The search strategy identified 951 records fro...
