Correlation of dynamic contrast ‐enhanced MRI derived volume transfer constant with histological angiogenic markers in high‐grade gliomas
ConclusionThe Ktrans derived from DCE‐MRI can reflect the VEGF expression of high‐grade gliomas but not the MVD. (Source: Australasian Radiology)

Selection criteria for endovascular therapy for acute ischaemic stroke: Are patients missing out?
ConclusionWe found that criteria from MR CLEAN, ASA and REVASCAT excluded the lowest proportion of patients with comparable NB1H. We believe that these criteria would be reasonable to be utilised for ECR selection. (Source: Australasian Radiology)

A retrospective cost analysis of angioplasty compared to bypass surgery for lower limb arterial disease in an Australian tertiary health service
ConclusionsIn this cohort, PTA is a favourable alternative to BYP for PAD of the lower limbs as it is less costly, does not result in a greater re‐intervention rate at 1 year and has been previously demonstrated to have comparable clinical outcomes. Given the limitations of this retrospective analysis, a prospective cost‐effectiveness analysis is recommended. (Source: Australasian Radiology)

Immediate post ‐insertion tip migration of peripherally inserted central catheters dependent on arm position and depth of inspiration
ConclusionThere is large amplitude of PICC tip position change with depth of inspiration and arm position resulting in frequent right atrial position. Despite this there were no associated complications in our cohort which compliments emerging international opinion regarding intra‐atrial PICC tip position. (Source: Australasian Radiology)

Collaborative model for training and credentialing point ‐of‐care ultrasound: 6‐year experience and quality outcomes
ConclusionA collaborative model to train and credential physicians in PoCUS has been successfully implemented. The programme grew significantly, produced excellent quality outcomes and resolved many issues of potential conflict related to PoCUS. (Source: Australasian Radiology)

The artefacts of death: CT post ‐mortem findings
Summary Post‐mortem CT is an increasingly used tool for investigating cause of death. While sharing many similarities with pre‐mortem imaging, a number of unique artefacts occur at post‐mortem CT, and these have the potential to mask underlying disease processes. It is vital that the artefacts associated with the process of dying and decompositional changes are recognised to avoid misdiagnosis. The following pictorial review discusses and illustrates the important and common post‐mortem changes. (Source: Australasian Radiology)

Association between measures of treatment quality and disease progression in prostate cancer radiotherapy: An exploratory analysis from the TROG 03.04 RADAR trial
ConclusionsThis analysis has revealed the association of several treatment quality factors with disease progression. Increased dose and dose margin coverage in the prostate region can reduce disease progression. Extensive and rigorous monitoring has helped to maximise treatment quality, reducing the incidence of quality‐indicator outliers, and thus reduce the chance of observing significant associations with progression rates.
