[Critical view and argumentation on chronic care programs in Primary and Community Care].
z-Aguilar C Abstract The detailed analysis of the chronic care plans developed by the Spanish regional health services show a surprising level of uniformity in their design and deployment, despite differences between these services. The reviews about theoretical models that support it and tools they develop does not provide conclusive evidence to support the chronic care models achieve better results than another alternatives of care. Although the whole Spanish chronic care plans includes assessment proposals no rigorous studies on their effect have been published to date. Given that, on the contrary, there is a s...

[Family, socioeconomic status and health services: Clues to health care in diabetic patients with lower limb amputations in Andalusia. A qualitative study].
CONCLUSION: Family, economic and working conditions, along with health system-related factors are the most important elements in the care of patients with diabetes and amputations. Social, economic and working conditions determine diabetic complications. In order to enhance health care impact on the prevention of diabetes mellitus complications, health system policy makers must take these facts seriously into consideration and in a more personalised manner. [Impact of disabling chronic pain: results of a cross-sectional population study with face-to-face interview].
CONCLUSIONS: We have considered DCP as another CP category because of its huge impact, as is shown in our study, on the study variables. On the contrary, the population with nDCP does not obtain significant impact differences when compared to the population without CP. Therefore, we believe that Primary Care and Public Health should lead different prevention strategies for DCP as well as for the identification of the nDCP population to decrease its possible deterioration towards DCP. [Management of odontogenic infections in Primary Care: Antibiotic?]
acute; Agustí ML Abstract Our aim is to contribute to the rational use of antibiotics prescribed by family doctors when a patient consults for a dental problem. Nowadays we should not ask which antibiotic to give. The question has to be if we need to prescribe antibiotics in front of the most common odontogenic infections seen in our practice. We review the main dental infections, which should be their appropriate management and the role of prevention. We need to know the complexity of the oral microbiome because it?ll depend on the appropriateness of the antibiotherapy, the evolution towards cure or progre...
