Association of Distinct Fine Specificities of Anti −Citrullinated Peptide Antibodies With Elevated Immune Responses to Prevotella intermedia in a Subgroup of Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis and Periodontitis
ConclusionThis study identifies 2 groups of ACPA fine specificities associated with different RA risk factors. One is predominantly linked to smoking and shared epitope, and the other links anti–cTNC5 and cCK13‐1 to infection with the periodontal pathogen P intermedia. (Source: Arthritis and Rheumatism)

Earliest Phase of Systemic Sclerosis Typified by Increased Levels of Inflammatory Proteins in the Serum
ConclusionSSc patients with preclinical/early SSc and those with established, yet nonfibrotic, disease exhibit clear molecular alterations that are associated with faster rates of disease evolution. These data open novel avenues for disease interception in SSc. (Source: Arthritis and Rheumatism)

2017 European League Against Rheumatism/American College of Rheumatology Classification Criteria for Adult and Juvenile Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathies and Their Major Subgroups
ConclusionThe European League Against Rheumatism/American College of Rheumatology (EULAR/ACR) classification criteria for IIM have been endorsed by international rheumatology, dermatology, neurology, and pediatric groups. They employ easily accessible and operationally defined elements, and have been partially validated. They allow classification of “definite,” “probable,” and “possible” IIM, in addition to the major subgroups of IIM, including juvenile IIM. They generally perform better than existing criteria. Safety and Efficacy of Intravenous Golimumab in Patients With Active Psoriatic Arthritis
ConclusionPatients receiving IV golimumab at 2 mg/kg had significantly greater improvements in the signs and symptoms of PsA and less radiographic progression through week 24. AEs were consistent with those seen with other anti–tumor necrosis factor agents. (Source: Arthritis and Rheumatism)

Therapeutic Modulation of Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cells in Experimental Arthritis
ConclusionThe therapeutic effects of imiquimod on joint inflammation and bone destruction are dependent on TLR‐7 sensing by PDCs and type I IFN signaling. Our findings indicate that local recruitment and activation of PDCs represents an attractive therapeutic opportunity for RA patients. (Source: Arthritis and Rheumatism)

Synovial Immunophenotype and Anti –Citrullinated Peptide Antibodies in Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients
ConclusionThe results of this prospective study demonstrate that the levels of synovial B cell infiltrates and lymphoid aggregates were significantly higher in ACPA+ RA patients, especially those who were naive to treatment. In addition, ACPA+ subjects developed more erosions during progression of the disease and had higher serum levels of CXCL13. The EULAR response to therapy in ACPA+ RA patients was associated with increased levels of T cell and macrophage markers. (Source: Arthritis and Rheumatism)
