Arterial Inflammation Detected With 18F ‐Fluorodeoxyglucose–Positron Emission Tomography in Rheumatoid Arthritis
ConclusionTraditional CV risk factors and RA disease characteristics (rheumatoid nodules and the Disease Activity Score in 28 joints using the C‐reactive protein level in anti‐CCP antibody–positive individuals) were independently associated with ascending aortic FDG uptake in RA patients without clinical CVD. Visualization of Peripheral Neuron Sensitization in a Surgical Mouse Model of Osteoarthritis by In Vivo Calcium Imaging
ConclusionOur findings indicate that increased numbers of small to medium‐sized DRG neurons respond to mechanical stimuli 8 weeks after DMM surgery, suggesting that nociceptors have become sensitized by lowering the response threshold. (Source: Arthritis and Rheumatism)

Marginal jawbone loss is associated with onset of rheumatoid arthritis and is related to plasma level of receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa ‐B ligand (RANKL)
ConclusionsMarginal jawbone loss preceded clinical onset of symptoms of RA but the difference was only manifested in non‐smokers. Moreover, pre‐symptomatic RA‐individuals, who were RANKL positive, displayed a significantly higher degree of marginal jawbone loss, particularly in ACPA positive individuals. This article is protected by copyright. Weight change in the early rheumatoid arthritis period and risk for subsequent mortality among women with RA and matched comparators
ConclusionSevere weight loss during the early RA period was associated with increased subsequent mortality risk for women with and without RA. These results extend prior observations by including non‐RA comparators and finding no protective association between weight gain and mortality, arguing against an RA‐specific obesity paradox for mortality. This article is protected by copyright. Higher Coronary Plaque Burden in Psoriatic Arthritis is Independent of Metabolic Syndrome and Associated with Underlying Disease Severity
ConclusionsPsA is associated with accelerated coronary plaque formation, particularly mixed plaques, independent of metabolic disease. Psoriatic disease activity and severity may predict coronary plaque burden better than traditional risk factors. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Detection of Subclinical Arthritis in Mice by a Thrombin  Receptor–Derived Imaging Agent
ConclusionRACPPNleTPRSFL activation detects established experimental arthritis, and the detection of inflammation by RACPPNleTPRSFL on day 1 of serum‐transfer arthritis correlates with disease progression. (Source: Arthritis and Rheumatism)

Myogenic Progenitor Cells Exhibit Type I Interferon –Driven Proangiogenic Properties and Molecular Signature During Juvenile Dermatomyositis
ConclusionThese results demonstrate a new type I IFN pathway in JDM that activates the production of angiogenic effectors by MPCs, triggering their proangiogenic function to promote vessel recovery and muscle reconstruction. (Source: Arthritis and Rheumatism)
