Impact of small bowel capsule endoscopy in iron deficiency anemia: influence of patient’sage on diagnostic yield
CONCLUSION: In our cohort small bowel capsule endoscopy diagnosed clinically relevant findings in the setting of iron deficiency anemia in almost half the patients. Diagnostic yield was higher in patients older than 60 years (60%), with vascular lesions being more frequent in this age group. Tofacitinib in the management of ulcerative colitis refractory to anti-tnf and anti-integrin therapies
We report a patient with active ulcerative colitis with primary non-response to three biologics (infliximab, adalimumab and vedolizumab), with different mechanisms of action, who refused surgical treatment and had a favorable response to tofacitinib with clinical and endoscopic remission.
