Experience with the Kosmos ultrasonographic tool in the approach and treatment of ambulatory patients of a heart failure clinic: a single-center cross-sectional study
CONCLUSIONS: The use of the portable ultrasound facilitated the quantitative characterization of the echocardiographic features of the studied population. This device could provide better clinical characterization which, in turn, might allow for optimized drug prescription for heart failure and dose adjustments of diuretics based on echocardiographic congestion findings.PMID:38507324 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.22000250 (Source: Archivos de Cardiologia de Mexico)

Academic and professional profile of cardiology fellowship graduates of National Institute of Cardiology Ignacio Ch ávez from 2000 to 2015
CONCLUSION: The majority of NIC graduates are physicians who further their academic training by pursuing additional postgraduate programs. They work longer hours per day compared to the general Mexican population, with a significant focus on clinical cardiology. Graduates actively seek opportunities to share their expertise through various academic activities.PMID:38507325 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.22000279 (Source: Archivos de Cardiologia de Mexico)

Pressure control and treatment interact in the deterioration of incidental visuospatial memory in hypertensive patients
CONCLUSIONS: The visuospatial incidental/intentional scores were negatively correlated with systolic pressure. The efficiency in the visuospatial ability depends on the interaction of treatment and effective control of blood pressure. The interaction between treatment and effective pressure control must be taken in count when cognitive deterioration is studied.PMID:38507327 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.22000290 (Source: Archivos de Cardiologia de Mexico)

Epidemiology and outcomes of pediatric cardiac arrest in a cardiovascular unit at a public hospital in Argentina
CONCLUSIONS: 4.1% of patients presented CRA, with a rate of 3.4 CRA per 1,000 patient-days. Survival at hospital discharge (n = 50) was 46%. Resuscitation > 6 min and the use of vasoactive drugs were independent predictors of mortality. At six months, 63% had normal neurological development for age.PMID:38507335 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.22000237 (Source: Archivos de Cardiologia de Mexico)

Prevalence of moderate-severe aortic stenosis in patients with cardiac amyloidosis in a referral center
CONCLUSIONS: In our cohort, the coexistence of both pathologies had a similar prevalence as reported in the international literature. It was an elderly population with a high percentage of atrial fibrillation and history of heart failure. Most of the patients presented with severe AS with low flow low gradient.PMID:38507302 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.22000074 (Source: Archivos de Cardiologia de Mexico)
