Effect of low dose albumin administration in spontaneous bacterial peritonitis on renal function and survival
ConclusionDespite even a low dose administration of albumin during SBP, renal dysfunction and HRS occurred less than described in literature. These results associated with cost considerations could suggest to use such an intervention during SBP or to select high risk patients who must receive albumin perfusion during SBP. The value of mRNA expression of S100A8 and S100A9 as blood-based biomarkers of inflammatory bowel disease
ConclusionThe S100A8 and S100A9 mRNA are differentially expressed in blood leucocytes of IBD patients compared to healthy controls as well as active versus quiescent disease. Up-regulation of TIMP-3 and RECK decrease the invasion and metastasis ability of colon cancer
ConclusionsUp-regulation of TIMP-3 and RECK, by inhibiting miR-21 expression can decrease tumour invasion and metastasis ability in vitro and in vivo, and has potential as a possible target site in anti-tumour therapy. Six-minute walk test before and after large-volume paracentesis in cirrhotic patients with refractory ascites: A pilot study
ConclusionWe found a decrease in pulmonary function and the 6MWD in patients who had refractory ascites, which improved significantly following large-volume paracentesis.
