A novel molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensor for the ultrasensitive detection of tert-butylhydroquinone in edible oils
Anal Biochem. 2023 Oct 13;682:115348. doi: 10.1016/j.ab.2023.115348. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTTert-butylhydroquinone (TBHQ) is widely used to increase the stability of food products; however, it is considered to be a highly unsafe preservative ingredient that has caused serious damage to human health. Thus, in this paper, a novel molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensor was designed for ultrasensitive, and selective detection of TBHQ in edible oils. The sensor was based on the molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) synthesized with multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT), and gold nanoparticle (GNP), as the coating mater...

Two fluorimetric determinations of acid α-glucosidase activity in dried-blood spot: Pompe disease in Iranian population
CONCLUSIONS: Establishing and implementing these 2 methods for the Iranian population effectively differentiated between healthy and patient individuals. Method II, with its shorter incubation time, demonstrated practicality in the clinical setting.PMID:37821037 | DOI:10.1016/j.ab.2023.115346 (Source: Analytical Biochemistry)

Method to generate Holliday junction recombination intermediates via RecA-mediated four-strand exchange
Anal Biochem. 2023 Oct 9:115347. doi: 10.1016/j.ab.2023.115347. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDNA molecules that contain single Holliday junctions have served as model substrates to investigate the pathway in which homologous recombination intermediates are processed. However, the preparation of DNA containing Holliday junctions in high yield remains a challenge. In this work, we used a nicking endonuclease to generate gapped DNA, from which α-structured DNA or figure-8 DNA were created via RecA-mediated reactions. The resulting DNA molecules were found to serve as good substrates for Holliday junction resolvases. The sim...
