Efficacy of a cardiac rehabilitation program in a municipal sports center compared to the hospital program: randomized controlled trial eCARCEX
CONCLUSIONS: We are unable to determine the effectiveness of the out-of-hospital cardiac rehabilitation program due to a lack of power (high number of withdrawals caused by COVID-19 lockdown). However, the experimented group achieved higher HDL-cholesterol levels, while cardiac frequency in VT2 was higher in the control group.PMID:37997791 | DOI:10.23938/ASSN.1050 (Source: Anales del Sistema Sanitario de Navarra)

Successful outpatient conservative management of chyle leak after laparoscopic left hemicolectomy
We present the case of a 60-year-old female with chyle leak after laparoscopic left hemicolectomy with complete mesocolic excision who underwent successful outpatient conservative management. We found no other cases of successful conservative outpatient treatment in the consulted literature. Adequate outpatient management may provide significant benefits by reducing hospital costs and improving patient´s quality of life, while maintaining the possibility of starting adjuvant treatment if indicated.PMID:37994840 | DOI:10.23938/ASSN.1051 (Source: Anales del Sistema Sanitario de Navarra)

Management of membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis secondary to infection by hepatitis C virus
We describe the management of a 47-year-old female with membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis secondary to hepatitis C virus infection, a condition with very low prevalence.PMID:37994841 | DOI:10.23938/ASSN.1055 (Source: Anales del Sistema Sanitario de Navarra)

Autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in a patient with refractory Crohn's disease
We report our experience with the first patient selected in our centre for autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation: 27 years old male with Crohn's disease (A1L3B1p) refractory to multiple lines of medical treatment and not a candidate for surgical treatment. Two years after the transplantation, the patient remains asymptomatic.PMID:37994842 | DOI:10.23938/ASSN.1054 (Source: Anales del Sistema Sanitario de Navarra)

Bilateral subgaleal hematoma after a robot-assisted radical prostatectomy: an uncommon complication
We present a case of a 62-year old male who developed subgaleal hematoma associated with transient neurologic impairment after surgery. Jugular vein insufficiency was suspected as the most likely cause. The patient recovered fully. Robot-assisted radical prostatectomy can be a challenging procedure due to the anesthesia requirements, but most complications are mild and transient. However, patients should be carefully assessed before surgery. We identified potential factors that may have led to this complication: the abnormal prolonged surgical time, the steep Trendelenburg, a non-assessed jugular vein insufficiency, and/or...
