An RNA-binding protein-related risk signature can predict the prognosis and tumor immunity of patients with testicular germ cell tumors
CONCLUSION: The established risk signature including four selected RBPs in TGCTs could predict the prognosis, tumor-related immunity and treatment benefits of patients with TGCTs. Utilization of this signature could help clinicians make personalized treatment decisions.PMID:35702133 | PMC:PMC9185064 (Source: American Journal of Translational Research)

Clinicopathologic and molecular features of vascular tumors in a series of 118 cases
CONCLUSIONS: FOSB and CAMTA1 are useful diagnostic markers for PHE and EHE, respectively. FOSB and FOS fusion represent a subset of epithelioid haemangioma. TFE3 is not a diagnostically meaningful marker in a majority of vascular tumors. The combined utility of these markers will facilitate the differential diagnosis in vascular tumors with morphologic overlap.PMID:35702134 | PMC:PMC9185040 (Source: American Journal of Translational Research)

Increased serum concentrations of estrogen-induced growth factors Midkine and FGF2 in NF1 patients with plexiform neurofibroma
In conclusion, we point out MK and FGF2 as biomarkers for plexiform neurofibroma in NF1 patients. As both growth factors are estrogen-responsive genes and neurofibromin is a co-repressor of estrogen receptor alpha activity, we suggest that the increased serum levels of MK and FGF2 observed in NF1 patients might be due to estradiol hypersensitivity.PMID:35702135 | PMC:PMC9185072 (Source: American Journal of Translational Research)

Role of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D in alleviating alveolar bone loss and gingival inflammation in ligature-induced periodontitis
CONCLUSIONS: Endogenous 1,25(OH)2D deficiency enhanced, whereas exogenous 1,25(OH)2D3 supplementation alleviated alveolar bone loss and gingival inflammation induced by ligature-induced periodontitis.PMID:35702136 | PMC:PMC9185029 (Source: American Journal of Translational Research)

Hepatokines Fetuin-A and Fetuin-B status in obese Saudi patient with diabetes mellitus type 2
In conclusion, our study did not find a significant association of Fetuin-A or Fetuin-B levels in serum with T2DM. However, our results suggest that Fetuin-A may influence insulin resistance and serum Fetuin-B concentrations were inversely associated with TG in the general adult Saudi population.PMID:35702137 | PMC:PMC9185080 (Source: American Journal of Translational Research)

Inflammation-mediated macrophage polarization induces TRPV1/TRPA1 heteromers in endometriosis
Am J Transl Res. 2022 May 15;14(5):3066-3078. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTChronic pelvic pain (CPP) and infertility are the common characteristics of endometriosis. Macrophages and related inflammation play important roles in endometriosis pain. TRPV1 and TRPA1 form a heteromeric channel which is related to endometriosis pain. In the present study, the inflammation-mediated macrophage polarization along with TRPV1/TRPA1 heteromers in endometriosis was investigated in vivo and in vitro. Macrophage polarization and TRPV1/TRPA1 heteromers in endometriosis tissue of patients were assayed, and was further investigated in endometri...

The effects of combination therapy by solid lipid nanoparticle and dental stem cells on different degenerative diseases
Am J Transl Res. 2022 May 15;14(5):3327-3343. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTStem cells have multiple therapeutic applications, as well as solid lipid nanoparticles. Solid lipid nanoparticle has appeared as a field of nano lipid technology with various potential applications in drug delivery, clinical medicine and research. Besides, the stem cells have a high proliferation rate and could differentiate into a variety of tissues. Stem cells derived from human dental pulp tissue differ from other sources of mesenchymal stem cells due to their embryonic neural crest source and neurotrophic potential. These consist of both dental pul...

The repair effect and mechanism of continuous passive motion on osteoarthritis in a rabbit model
CONCLUSION: CPM can effectively improve the symptoms of knee osteoarthritis in rabbits and increase the mobility of the joints, and the mechanism may be related to the ability of CPM to reduce the overproduction of peroxide at the lesion site.PMID:35702092 | PMC:PMC9185065 (Source: American Journal of Translational Research)

Meta-analysis of therapeutic efficacy and effects of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine on coagulation and fibrinolysis system in patients with threatened abortion and polycystic ovary syndrome
CONCLUSIONS: The effect of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine is better than that of Western medicine alone in the treatment of PCOS with threatened abortion, and it has certain advantages in improving the fibrinolytic status of patients. However, due to the limitation of the quality and quantity of the included literature, more rigorous and larger sample studies are needed to confirm these conclusions in the future.PMID:35702093 | PMC:PMC9185052 (Source: American Journal of Translational Research)

Clinical value of prophylactic transcatheter arterial chemoembolization treatment in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma
CONCLUSION: Prophylactic TACE significantly reduced the postoperative recurrence rate and improved the survival rate of patients with HCC. The optimal treatment efficacy was associated with interventional therapy within 1-2 months after surgery, while incomplete envelope, tumor diameter ≥5 cm, and combined cirrhosis were the high-risk factors for HCC recurrence.PMID:35702096 | PMC:PMC9185034 (Source: American Journal of Translational Research)
