Remdesivir-Associated Pancreatitis
We report a case of acute pancreatitis that developed after four days of remdesivir therapy in a patient being treated for COVID-19. Despite improvement in patient's respiratory status, abdominal pain worsened and clinical signs and symptoms progressed to a diagnosis of acute pancreatitis 4 days after initiation of remdesivir therapy. Withdrawal of remdesivir paired with medical management of acute pancreatitis led to the resolution of pancreatitis within three days. To our knowledge, this is the first case report depicting remdesivir as a possible cause of acute pancreatitis. (Source: American Journal of Therapeutics)

Pharmacological Management of Obesity: A Century of Expert Opinions in Cecil Textbook of Medicine
Conclusions: The pharmacological management of obesity has remained frustratingly inefficient. The reasons for the relative lack of success may reside in the ever-growing access to dense, palatable, and relatively inexpensive food, coupled with the decrease in energy expenditure created by a sedentary lifestyle. The Attitudes and Beliefs of Family Physicians Regarding the Use of Medical Cannabis, Knowledge of Side Effects, and Barriers to Use: A Comparison Between Residents and Specialists
Conclusions: Family physicians are concerned about recommending medical cannabis. It is encouraging that residents are motivated to undergo training to prescribe medical cannabis. There remain medical indications and adverse effects that family physicians are less aware of. Further studies should focus on effective ways to improve the level of physicians' knowledge on the issue. (Source: American Journal of Therapeutics)

Study Question: What is the prevalence and acuity of coronary artery disease, arterial hypertension, dyslipidemia, and diabetes mellitus among patients with dementia, mood, and psychotic disorders admitted for geropsychiatric care? Study Desig...
