Patterns of Care in Maintenance Therapy in US Patients Undergoing Definitive Chemoradiation for Stage 3 Non–Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)
Conclusions: The rate of durvalumab utilization was overall low in both the open and closed claims data sources (31% and 53%, respectively). It remains unknown what percent of eligible patients end up receiving durvalumab, as our analysis was unable to filter out patients who were unfit for durvalumab or if they had progression after chemoradiation. Future efforts are needed to increase maintenance durvalumab utilization and to determine how best to manage patients who are unfit for durvalumab. (Source: American Journal of Clinical Oncology)

Fédération Nationale Des Centres de Lutte Contre Le Cancer (FNCLCC) Grading, Margin Status and Tumor Location Associate With Survival Outcomes in Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumors
Conclusions: Association between FNCLCC grading and survival outcomes in MPNST suggests potential value to routinely grading these neoplasms. However, the subjectivity of the grading system, particularly when assigning a tumor differentiation score, may pose a challenge, especially in low and intermediate grade lesions. Rapid Initiation of Neoadjuvant Chemoradiotherapy After Diagnosis is Associated With Improved Pathologic Response in Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer
Introduction: In rectal cancer, neoadjuvant chemoradiation (NCRT) is preferred because of toxicity profile, improved resectability and sphincter preservation, although with no impact on overall survival. Pathologic complete response (pCR) to NCRT has been linked with longer disease-free survival (DFS). The study purpose was to evaluate an association between clinical factors and treatment schedule with tumor response and treatment outcome, among patients with locally advanced rectal cancer. Patients and Methods: In this single-center retrospective study, conducted over 9 years (2011 to 2020), patients with stage...

Treatment and Prevention of Brain Metastases in Small Cell Lung Cancer
Central nervous system (CNS) metastasis will develop in 50% of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients throughout disease course. Development of CNS metastasis poses a particular treatment dilemma due to the accompanied cognitive changes, poor permeability of the blood-brain barrier to systemic therapy and relatively advanced state of disease. Survival of patients with untreated SCLC brain metastases is generally (Source: American Journal of Clinical Oncology)
