International Variations in Dementia and Alzheimer Disease Diagnosis and Certification Habits and Their Associations With Dementia and Alzheimer Disease Mortality: A Cross-Sectional Study of 38 Countries
CONCLUSION: We identified a small number of countries with obvious natonal diagnosis and certification habits preferring dementia or AD and had moderate effects on international variations in the mortality rates of dementia and AD.PMID:37615486 | DOI:10.1097/WAD.0000000000000573 (Source: Alzheimer Disease and Associated Disorders)

A Pilot Randomized Trial of a Purposeful and Stimulating Volunteer Opportunity: Program Satisfaction and Potential Impacts on Perceived Cognitive Change in a Neurologically Mixed Sample of Older Adults
CONCLUSIONS: SPEAK! was feasible and appreciated by older adults with and without cognitive impairment. Larger studies should confirm benefits for memory and other determinants of quality of life.PMID:37615487 | PMC:PMC10454976 | DOI:10.1097/WAD.0000000000000572 (Source: Alzheimer Disease and Associated Disorders)

High-Frequency rTMS Could Improve Impaired Memory in Mild Cognitive Impairment Patients in China: A Randomized Controlled Study
CONCLUSION: High-frequency rTMS over the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex could facilitate improvement on impaired memory in patients with MCI via modulating the neuronal activity and brain network.PMID:37615489 | DOI:10.1097/WAD.0000000000000577 (Source: Alzheimer Disease and Associated Disorders)

Predictors of Cognitive Change in Parkinson Disease: A 2-year Follow-up Study
CONCLUSIONS: Lower scores on cognitive tests of attention were predictive of worse global cognition over 2 years of follow-up in PD, and lower baseline attention and language scores were associated with progression to MCI or PDD. However, PD-MCI diagnosis per se was not predictive of cognitive decline over 2 years. The association between higher executive domain z-scores and greater global cognitive worsening is probably a spurious result.PMID:37615480 | DOI:10.1097/WAD.0000000000000576 (Source: Alzheimer Disease and Associated Disorders)
