C5a receptor 1 −/− mice are protected from the development of IgE‐mediated experimental food allergy
ConclusionsOur findings identify C5aR1 activation as an important driver of IgE ‐mediated food allergy through regulation of allergen‐specific IgE production, FcεR1‐mediated MC degranulation, and histamine‐driven effector functions preferentially in male mice. (Source: Allergy)

Massive release of the histamine ‐degrading enzyme diamine oxidase during severe anaphylaxis in mastocytosis patients
ConclusionsDuring severe anaphylaxis in mastocytosis patients DAO is likely released from heparin ‐sensitive gastrointestinal storage sites. The measured concentrations can degrade histamine, but DAO activity is compromised compared to pregnancy samples. For accurate histamine measurements during anaphylaxis DAO inhibition is essential to inhibit further histamine degradation after blood withd rawal. Determination of DAO antigen levels might be of clinical value to improve the diagnosis of mast cell activation. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. (Source: Allergy)

Chitinase 3 ‐like 1 protein plays a critical role in RSV‐induced airway inflammation
ConclusionsThese findings suggest that CHI3L1 could contribute to airway inflammation induced by RSV infection. CHI3L1 could be a potential therapeutic candidate for attenuating Th2 ‐associated immunopathology during RSV infection. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. (Source: Allergy)
