Identifying older inpatients at high risk of unintentional medication discrepancies: a classification tree analysis
This study aimed to identify the clinical profiles of geriatric inpatients with unintentional medication discrepancies at hospital admission. A classification tree Chi-square Automatic Interaction Detector (CHAID) analysis was conducted to assess those patients' profiles and characteristics that were associated with a higher risk of unintentional medication discrepancies. One-hundred and thirty consecutive older patients admitted to acute care (87 ± 5 years old; 61.8% women) were assessed. Symptomatic and preventive medication use according to age and frailty in Australian and Japanese nursing homes
CONCLUSIONS: The ratio of symptomatic to preventive medications was higher with increasing frailty but lower with age in Australia; whereas in Japan, the ratio remained consistent across age and frailty groups. Effects of a tailored mat-Pilates exercise program for older adults on pain, functioning, and balance in women with chronic non-specific low back pain: a randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSIONS: A 10-week mat-Pilates program reduced pain and improved disability in older women with chronic NSLBP, effects which persisted at 6 months. Genetic predisposition to white blood cells in relation to the risk of frailty
