Correlation of severity of penile torsion with type of hypospadias & ventral penile curvature and their management
Conclusions Penile torque is more common and severe in distal hypospadias, while ventral curvature is seen more often in proximal hypospadias. The degree of torsion is inversely proportional to the severity of ventral curvature. Techniques for the repair of penile torque and ventral curvature include penile degloving and mobilization of the urethral plate with the corpus spongiosum and the urethra. A review of transrectal ultrasound guided prostate biopsies: Is there still a role for finger guided prostate biopsies?
Conclusion Our study did not show superiority of TRUS over FG biopsies except when the patient had a low PSA (below 10ng/mL) and a normal DRE. Systematic FG biopsies may be underutilised in the TRUS era, and may be of benefit in patients presenting with a PSA over 10ng/mL or an abnormal DRE. This may be of value in a limited resource setting where access to TRUS is restricted. (Source: African Journal of Urology)

Penile metastases from primary bronchus carcinoma – A case report and literature review
Conclusions Cases of metastases to the penis are very rare and often carry a grave prognosis, as it is a late manifestation of malignant disease. The average survival from the diagnosis of penile metastases in our review was just under 4 months. It is however important to be aware and recognise this rare phenomenon, and differentiate it from primary penis cancer. Treatment of penile metastases is mostly palliative, but much can be done to improve the patient's quality of life. Early correct diagnosis may also alter the treatment of the primary tumour. Severe sepsis secondary to emphysematous cystitis
We present the case of a patient with EC who presented with severe sepsis of unknown origin. He was also found to have two vesical calculi and a horseshoe kidney. EC was diagnosed on ultrasonography which showed circumferential, acoustic shadowing around the bladder wall. Computed tomography (CT) confirmed the diagnosis. Rapid healing could be achieved with appropriate antibiotics and bladder drainage. Endoscopic disintegration of the stones was performed three weeks later, and follow-up was uneventful. Renal epithelioid angiomyolipoma presenting clinically as renal cell carcinoma – A case report
We describe a 22-year old female who presented with a 5-year history of a palpable, painless mass in the right flank. Computerized tomography demonstrated a solid renal mass measuring 18cm×13cm with peripheral calcification, areas of vascularity and necrosis. The appearance suggested renal cell carcinoma or nephroblastoma, but percutaneous renal biopsy suggested an adrenal origin. At right radical nephrectomy, the adrenal gland was completely normal. Histology showed sheets and nests of epithelioid cells with abundant eosinophilic to clear cytoplasm, confirming a diagnosis of epithelioid angiomyolipoma (EAML), a rare...

Ethnic variation of the histological subtypes of renal cell carcinoma in Singapore
Conclusion The commonest histological subtype of RCC in each of the studied ethnic groups in Singapore is clear cell carcinoma. However, most of the cancer deaths in Chinese (16.9%) and Malays (66.7%) were associated with the papillary cell type, while in Indians the sarcomatoid component prevailed (9.7%). Thus, the usual prognostic trend for RCC subtypes cannot be applied to all Singaporean ethnicities, necessitating individualization of prognosis for each group. (Source: African Journal of Urology)
