May noninvasive mechanical ventilation and/ or continuous positive airway pressure increase the bronchoalveolar lavage salvage in patients with pulmonary diseases? Randomized clinical trial - Study protocol
CONCLUSION: The results of our prospective study will address the currently unsolved problem of how to increase BAL salvage in patients with pulmonary diseases without increasing the risk of respiratory failure exacerbation.PMID:37945441 | DOI:10.1016/j.advms.2023.10.009 (Source: Advances in Medical Sciences)

Coding RNA expression profile and transcription factor analysis of H.pylori-associated chronic atrophic gastritis
CONCLUSION: The expression of APOA1, CYP3A4, FOXP3, CCR7, and CCL19 are the potential indicators for CAG to GC development, being the biomarkers to predict progression of CAG and poor prognosis of GC.PMID:37945439 | DOI:10.1016/j.advms.2023.10.007 (Source: Advances in Medical Sciences)

A comprehensive review of ACE2, ACE1, TMPRSS2 and IFITM3 gene polymorphisms and their effect on the severity of COVID-19
This study aimed to analyze DNA polymorphisms in the ACE2, ACE1, TMPRSS2, and IFITM3 genes. Findings showed certain polymorphisms appear to be associated with the severity of the disease, including respiratory, coronary, and neurological disorders. The results also indicated that certain polymorphisms were protective against this virus. Varying populations have a different frequency of high-risk polymorphisms, so different treatment and preventative techniques must be implemented. Additional population studies should be conducted in this region to reduce the incidence of COVID-19-related morbidity and mortality.PMID:379260...
