Resolution of Trigger Finger with Electroacupuncture
CONCLUSIONS: EA alone directed at the A1 pulley may be an effective treatment modality for patients with TF. The authors hypothesize that EA may reduce pain enabling a return to normal function and compression of the nodule, thus eliminating triggering. Further research evaluating the efficacy of EA for TF may help substantiate these results.PMID:38162547 | PMC:PMC10753943 | DOI:10.1089/acu.2023.0032 (Source: Acupuncture in Medicine)

Combination of Manual Acupuncture, Penetrating Needling, and Electroacupuncture to Treat Bell's Palsy
CONCLUSIONS: In this patient, a combination of acupuncture penetrating needling technique and EA played a role to shorten her recovery time and minimize the risk of sequelae of Bell's palsy. The treatment combination used in this case report can be considered in other clinical cases.PMID:38162550 | PMC:PMC10753939 | DOI:10.1089/acu.2023.0033 (Source: Acupuncture in Medicine)

Is Electroacupuncture Contraindicated for Preventing and Treating Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy?
CONCLUSIONS: Most of the studies were limited by small sample sizes, and some studies used EA protocols and treatment doses (frequency and total number of sessions) that were potentially suboptimal. The quantity and quality of the studies are insufficient to draw firm conclusions on effectiveness and safety. More studies must test optimal EA protocols and treatment dosages. It is inappropriate to say that EA is not recommended for CIPN prevention or treatment, because there is no robust evidence to justify this. Generally, research has found benefits and no harms.PMID:38162553 | PMC:PMC10753944 | DOI:10.1089/acu.2023.0085 ...
