Effects of contralateral versus ipsilateral electroacupuncture for analgesia and rehabilitation after unilateral total knee arthroplasty: a randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSION: Contralateral EA is more effective than sham EA for treating postoperative pain following TKA, but has an analgesic effect similar to that of ipsilateral EA.TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER: ChiCTR1800020297 (Chinese Clinical Trial Registry).PMID:38149653 | DOI:10.1177/09645284231211601 (Source: Acupuncture in Medicine : journal of the British Medical Acupuncture Society)

Efficacy of trigger point dry needling on pain and function of the hip joint: a systematic review of randomized clinical trials
CONCLUSION: DN may be safe and effective at relieving hip pain and improving hip function. DN performs significantly better than several different types of control intervention (including sham DN, no treatment, corticosteroid injections and laser). Strong evidence (high degree of certainty around the results) is lacking, and future studies should ideally use longer follow-up periods and larger sample sizes.REVIEW REGISTRATION NUMBER: CRD42022297845 (PROSPERO).PMID:38149616 | DOI:10.1177/09645284231207870 (Source: Acupuncture in Medicine : journal of the British Medical Acupuncture Society)

Electroacupuncture at GB20 improves cognitive ability and synaptic plasticity via the CaM-CaMKII-CREB signaling pathway following cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats
CONCLUSION: EA treatment at GB20 may ameliorate the negative effects of MCAO on cognitive function in rats by enhancing synaptic plasticity. EA treatment at GB20 may exert this neuroprotective effect by regulating the CACNA1B-CaM-CaMKII-CREB axis.PMID:38126262 | DOI:10.1177/09645284231202805 (Source: Acupuncture in Medicine : journal of the British Medical Acupuncture Society)
