Radiotherapy with or without immunotherapy in metastatic melanoma: efficacy and Tolerability
CONCLUSION: This retrospective study showed that melanoma patients receiving RT in combination with ICI had a superior antitumoral response in both irradiated and non-irradiated lesions as compared to patients receiving only RT. Additionally, a subgroup of patients receiving RT when progressing on ICI experienced tumor regression also in non-irradiated areas.PMID:37966921 | DOI:10.1080/0284186X.2023.2280766 (Source: Acta Oncologica)

Evaluation of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, PD-L1, and < em > PIK3CA < /em > mutations and association with prognosis in HER2-positive early stage breast cancer
DISCUSSION: Patients with low sTILs had a significantly poorer survival, despite adequate treatment with adjuvant therapy.PMID:37961947 | DOI:10.1080/0284186X.2023.2279685 (Source: Acta Oncologica)

Evaluating video-based consultations in routine clinical practice at a comprehensive cancer center
CONCLUSION: This study showed promising results of incorporating video-based teleconsultations into cancer patient management. Randomized clinical trials are needed in order to accelerate the digital implementation in clinical practice.PMID:37948066 | DOI:10.1080/0284186X.2023.2278758 (Source: Acta Oncologica)

Amivantamab compared with real-world therapies in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer < em > EGFR < /em > Exon 20 insertion mutations after platinum-based chemotherapy
CONCLUSION: In the absence of clinical evidence from randomized clinical trials, this study reflects the benefit of amivantamab after platinum-based chemotherapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients harboring EGFR Exon 20ins, compared to current real-world therapies.PMID:37938161 | DOI:10.1080/0284186X.2023.2254479 (Source: Acta Oncologica)

Altered p53/p16 expression is linked to urothelial carcinoma progression but largely unrelated to prognosis in muscle-invasive tumors
CONCLUSION: Aberrant p53 and p16 immunostaining increases during grade and stage progression although p53 negative and p16 positive immunostaining lack prognostic significance in pT2-4 carcinomas. Potential diagnostic features are that high level p16 expression is limited to neoplastic urothelium and p53 null phenotype to aggressive cancers (grade 3 and invasive).PMID:37938166 | DOI:10.1080/0284186X.2023.2277344 (Source: Acta Oncologica)
