Investigating the role of chlorogenic acids and coffee type in coffee-induced teeth discoloration
CONCLUSIONS: Prolonged exposure to coffee can exacerbate teeth staining, and different types of coffee can cause varying degrees of discoloration. Furthermore, coffee with higher levels of CGAs may lead to greater tooth discoloration.PMID:37565724 | DOI:10.1080/00016357.2023.2245880 (Source: Acta Odontologica Scandinavica)

The effect of reconstructive techniques as treatment modality for peri-implant osseous defects - a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: With regards to the clinical measures of disease, our review shows that there are no differences between open flap debridement and regenerative surgery. From an esthetic standpoint, it may however be that regenerative measures may lead to improvement but further publications with this focus will be necessary to verify this.PMID:37551914 | DOI:10.1080/00016357.2023.2243325 (Source: Acta Odontologica Scandinavica)

Periapical foreign body findings - histological and radiological comparison
CONCLUSIONS: According to our results, histopathology is a more accurate diagnostic tool than radiology in periapical foreign bodies or foreign body reactions. Clinicians should keep in mind the limitations of imaging when setting the diagnosis and planning treatment.PMID:37470399 | DOI:10.1080/00016357.2023.2236213 (Source: Acta Odontologica Scandinavica)

Accuracy of the Swedish quality registry for caries and periodontal diseases (SKaPa) - evaluation in 6- and 12-year-olds in the region of V ärmland, Sweden
CONCLUSION: Agreement between data in the dental records and SKaPa was very high for dft/DFT confirming that transfer from the dental records to the SKaPa-registry is safe and correct. As the accuracy of deft/DMFT was considerably lower than for dft/DFT we advise against using deft/DMFT data from SKaPa for research purposes at this point.PMID:37470405 | DOI:10.1080/00016357.2023.2235422 (Source: Acta Odontologica Scandinavica)
