Neutrophil extracellular traps correlate with severity and prognosis in patients with ischemic stroke: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionThe presence of NETs is positively related to the severity and prognosis of IS. Higher levels of NETs indicate a more severe disease and a poorer prognosis. Because the number and quality of included studies are limited, the above results must be supported by further high-quality studies.Systematic review registration:https://www.crd.york.ac.uk/PROSPERO/, identifier: CRD42022356619. Clinical features, treatment, and outcomes of cavernous sinus dural arteriovenous fistulas: a cohort study of 141 patients
ConclusionOcular/orbital symptoms were the most common first symptom of CS-DAVF. The mode of venous drainage played a significant role in determining the first symptoms. Transvenous embolization using Onyx or a combination of Onyx and coils was the primary treatment modality. (Source: Acta Neurologica Belgica)

The probable role of tissue plasminogen activator/neuroserpin axis in Alzheimer ’s disease: a new perspective
AbstractAlzheimer ’s disease (AD) is the most common type of dementia associated with amyloid beta (Aβ) deposition. Dysfunction of the neuronal clearance pathway promotes the accumulation of Aβ. The plasminogen-activating system (PAS) is controlled by various enzymes like tissue plasminogen activators (tPA). Neur onal tPA enhances the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin, which cleaves Aβ; this function is controlled by many inhibitors of PAS, including a plasminogen-activating inhibitor (PAI-1) and neuroserpin. Therefore, the objective of the present narrative review was to explore the potential role of tP A/neuroser...
