Which patients with coronary artery disease should include oral nitrates on their discharge medication list?
CONCLUSION: There was no association between oral nitrates included in the discharge medication list and the development of MACEs among patients with CAD after adjusting for some covariates, such as SYNTAX score. Oral nitrates after discharge for CAD patients combined with hypertension increased the occurrence of MACEs. Oral nitrates after discharge for CAD patients combined with low uric acid levels may increase theoccurrence of MACEs, and close monitoring for any adverse events is recommended.PMID:37961760 | DOI:10.1080/00015385.2023.2271763 (Source: Acta Cardiologica)

Long-term outcomes from upgrade to cardiac resynchronisation therapy in ischaemic versus non-ischaemic heart disease
CONCLUSIONS: Upgrade to CRT might improve heart failure symptoms and left-ventricular systolic function in the long-term, irrespective of underlying ischaemic or non-ischaemic heart disease.PMID:37961770 | DOI:10.1080/00015385.2023.2277624 (Source: Acta Cardiologica)

Systematic review of leadless pacemaker
Acta Cardiol. 2023 Nov 14:1-11. doi: 10.1080/00015385.2023.2276537. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTConventional pacing systems consist of a pacemaker and one or more leads threaded from the device pocket through veins into the heart conducting the pacing therapy to the desired pacing site. Although these devices are effective, approximately one in eight patients treated with these traditional pacing systems experiences a complication attributed to the pacemaker pocket or leads. With the technological advances in electronics, leadless pacemakers that small enough to implant within the heart were introduced. Leadless pacemake...
