Telepsychiatry gigs in 2023
What's a reasonable rate for 100% telepsychiatry jobs these days and workload? I've looked at Cerebral, Talkiatry, Iris and one other that covers mostly ED work. Seems like $150 to $200 / hr is what's floating around, some offer benefits if full-time. They seem to keep you busy. I know this has been brought up in the past but couldn't find a recent thread to reflect current offers. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

"Bait & Switch" Associateship Jobs
Is there anyone who responded to a dental associate job ad only for find it was not what was advertised? What was your experience? Here's mine: One of my early jobs was with a Kois trained dentist who did implants, full mouth reconstruction, IV sedation, and other advanced procedures I wanted mentorship in. After I onboarded and left my community health clinic position, I was placed on hygiene duty, delivered his crowns, scrubbed toilets, answered the phone from the front desk, and... NICU academic positions & research requirements
Hi all, I have a question about faculty positions and research requirements in neonatology. I'm finishing up my 2nd year of fellowship so starting to think about jobs. Basically, are there academic positions out there where you can focus solely on clinical service and bedside teaching? Plus maybe being a part of some committees? I enjoy research but don't necessarily feel the need to make it a huge part of my career, and definitely don't see myself being someone who spends the majority... Job Hunting While Employed
Good morning, I am a new attending and am trying to navigate how to go about applying for jobs while currently employed. Would you all discuss plans to apply for new jobs with your employer first, or wait until after you have another job offer? I am really just worried about burning bridges and don't want to rub anyone the wrong way. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Post fellowship jobs opportunities
Hello everyone. I will be graduating from stroke fellowship this year and already signed a 7on/7off job at a local hospital. How many of you do the same WITH tele on the side? Do you think it’s doable or should I look into just resting on my 7 off? Yes I’d like to make a little more money but don’t want to work nonstop. Also, do you know of any companies that do tele stroke only ( not tele general neurology ). I spoke with a couple companies and both had minimum 8 shifts ( tele general... Is it happening?
What will job options be like if NPs and PAs take over chiropody? Although we are trained too long for chiropody it does provide jobs (even if a plan B) in a saturated job market. Does our license allow us to have PAs and NPs under us doing this? I imagine not in most states. People claim NPs and PAs will not take these jobs, but if they do will podiatry have negative job growth? Job below Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant / Podiatry Consultant - NEA NHAccess Medical... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Full time surgical ophthalmologist, South Texas
The Eye Experts is searching for an expert ophthalmologist to join a busy practice, where you can do well for yourself and also do some real good for your patients. I am looking for a capable and experienced surgeon who can provide excellent surgical outcomes, and by being the second surgeon in the practice, cut patient wait times for surgery. The office has a suite for Lasik and minor surgery, and I use a nearby freestanding surgicenter for cataract surgery and other cases requiring... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Transitioning from hospitalist back to primary care. Help!
Hey all, I'm working on transitioning back to primary care after 2-3 years of adult hospitalist work after residency. I'm a little out of touch with key things to look for (or avoid) in primary care jobs and was hoping to get some feedback; I'm seeking 4-4.5 day work week no ob +/- peds. I'm shooting for compensation in range of 275k-300k on 20-25 patients per day plus retention/sign on/student loan repayment in the Midwest. Is this realistic? My list of things to look into so far... How to spot political and religious culture of residency programs?
As someone who has had 9 jobs in his life, I understand that the majority of work environments have a political leaning culture. Whether that’s woke/liberal/PC or conservative/religious, there is usually some sort of culture and it can cause a lot of friction. Now I pride myself on being a team player and getting along with everyone and I don’t lean that heavily on either side of the political spectrum. However, I do find it distracting and difficult to be in a work environment where a... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
