Feedback on secondary essay ideas?
I'm trying to start brainstorming what to write about on my secondaries and I'm struggling so I would really appreciate feedback! Diversity- I come from a decently big family (20 first cousins, 9 aunts/uncles, 2 of my cousins lived with my family at one point, etc), was raised by Iraqi/Iranian immigrant parents, and I'm part of a very small religion. I would say the religion makes me most unique (<200,000 members in America) so I wonder if I focus more on the values rather than the more... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Personal Statement Including Life Story
I started working on my personal statement recently and was wondering if I should include my life story in it as it's somewhat unique and involves me and my family fleeing Iraq when I was young just before the war and living in multiple countries before moving to the US. Would it be taking up too much space of the PS or is it justified for me to include it even though it doesn't necessarily directly pertain to why I want to become a physician/pursue medicine? Thanks! Pharmacology Masters Admission Exam
Hello! I'm not sure if this is the right place to write, but I need some guidance for an admission exam I'd need to pass for a Pharmacology Masters' Degree (MSc) at my University (I'm from Iraq). The exam is based on a book called "Pharmacology - Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews"; not the whole book is included - about half of it, and I have around two months for preparation. What do you think is the best method to study? I know study techniques vary from student to student, but from you... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Podiatry Success Stories
I’m creating this thread to put success stories of those podiatrists who represent the profession well and how they’re making a difference. I’ll start with this one I saw today on Google alerts. “How the Iraq war led this man to become a podiatrist and open his own clinic in Idaho Falls” How the Iraq war led this man to become a podiatrist and open his own clinic in Idaho Falls - East Idaho News IDAHO FALLS – It’s no secret that serving in the military can be physically demanding but there’s one aspect of military service ...

Hi SDN Anesthesia, I am bringing up this for discussion, a adult case, you are trying to extubate him (I extubate using the technique of PSVPro mode, and never on spontaneous breathing), and without train of four and those fancy stuff - I am in Iraq - sometime the patient develops hypertension, and you only have the following medication (It is a brief period of 5 - 10 minutes, until he start obey command to open his eyes or at least moves his eyebrows up indicating good airway reflexes -... Happy Holidays SDN Anesthesiologists #Case_05
Dear All, I hope you are doing well, it has been a year since my last post where I told you about passing my 1st year residency exam (like ABA) here in Iraq where I am now a third year resident in Anesthesia and Intensive Care / Iraqi Board. It has been a tough year for all of us, and for me since Covid hits Iraq, we worked very hard to contain the crisis especially with a weak and devastated health system, it wasn't easy at all, we have lost so many doctors in Iraq and well known...
