Prevention and early intervention in South African disability claims management: The private insurer perspective
CONCLUSION: This study has proposed a prevention and early intervention model for a disability that may be applied to the employee health and productivity continuum in an attempt to mitigate the risk of ill-health and disability occurring and if they do occur, to decrease the length of time that the symptoms impact an employee's productivity at work.PMID:36641714 | DOI:10.3233/WOR-211384 (Source: Work)

Continuity of Care in Rehabilitation
Am J Phys Med Rehabil. 2023 Feb 1;102(2S Suppl 1):S10-S12. doi: 10.1097/PHM.0000000000002144.ABSTRACTA patient-physician discovers the benefits of long and intensive rehabilitation after a head injury. Progress, slow but verifiable, has continued for more than 2 yrs. Many insurers and providers might have given up and said I could not benefit from further treatment after I could manage the activities of daily living. I was lucky in that my providers stayed with me, allowing a more complete and gratifying recovery.PMID:36634324 | DOI:10.1097/PHM.0000000000002144 (Source: Health Physics)

A Survey of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network on Approaches Toward Addressing Patients' Transportation Insecurity
CONCLUSIONS: Many NCCN Member Institutions are addressing the transportation needs of their patients. Current efforts are heterogeneous. Few centers have systematic, routine screening approaches, and funding relies on philanthropy more so than institutional dollars or reimbursement from insurers. Opportunities exist to establish more structured, scalable, and sustainable programs for patients' transportation needs.PMID:36634609 | DOI:10.6004/jnccn.2022.7073 (Source: Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network : JNCCN)
