A Hierarchical Bayesian approach to small area estimation of health insurance coverage in Ethiopian administrative zones for better policies and programs
Sample surveys are extensively used to provide reliable direct estimates for large areas or domains with enough sample sizes at national and regional levels. However, zones are unplanned domains by the Demogra... (Source: Health Economics Review)

Social deprivation index affects time to MRI after knee injury in pediatric patients and is predicted by patient demographics
CONCLUSION: Increased SDI is independently associated with longer time from clinic visit to knee MRI order and longer time from clinic visit to knee MRI completion in our pediatric population. Recognizing potential barriers to orthopedic care can help create the change necessary to provide the best possible care for all individual patients.PMID:38618689 | DOI:10.1080/00913847.2024.2342235 (Source: The Physician and Sportsmedicine Online)

Histology Findings after Two Years of Cytology/HPV Co-Testing in Germany
CONCLUSION: More CIN lesions were found with co-testing, but the increase in histology findings of low-grade or no dysplasia was far greater than findings of CIN3. Lesions not requiring treatment accounted for 94.4% of biopsy results in 2020/21. The use of computer-assisted LBC with progression markers could reduce this.PMID:38618577 | PMC:PMC11006558 | DOI:10.1055/a-2265-3578 (Source: Geburtshilfe und Frauenheilkunde)

Reduction in Diabetes-Related Hospitalizations and Medical Costs After Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitor Initiation in People with Type 2 Diabetes Using Intensive Insulin Therapy
CONCLUSION: Initiation of Dexcom G6 among people with T2D using intensive insulin therapy was associated with a significant reduction in diabetes-related ED and inpatient visits and related HCRU costs. Expanded use of RT-CGM could augment these benefits and result in further cost reductions.PMID:38619722 | DOI:10.1007/s12325-024-02851-8 (Source: Adv Data)

Treatment-Free Interval: A Novel Approach to Assessing Real-World Treatment Effectiveness and Economic Impact Among Patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea
CONCLUSIONS: This real-world study suggests that TFI is a meaningful surrogate measure of treatment effectiveness in IBS-D. Patients treated with rifaximin had longer treatment-free periods and lower healthcare costs than patients treated with eluxadoline.PMID:38619720 | DOI:10.1007/s12325-024-02832-x (Source: Adv Data)

Organizational Breast Cancer Data Mart: A Solution for Assessing Outcomes of Imaging and Treatment
CONCLUSION: Institutional real-world data marts enable comprehensive understanding of care outcomes within an organization. As clinical data sources become increasingly structured, such marts may be an important source for future interinstitution analysis and potentially an opportunity to create robust real-world results that could be used to support evidence-based national policy and care decisions for breast cancer.PMID:38621193 | DOI:10.1200/CCI.23.00193 (Source: Clinical Genitourinary Cancer)
