Evaluating Linkage Quality of Population-Based Administrative Data for Health Service Research
CONCLUSION: This study confirms the possibility of building health and medical data at the national level as the first data linkage quality verification study using big data from the HIRA. Analyzing the quality of linkages is crucial for comprehending linkage errors and generating reliable analytical outcomes. Linkers should increase the reliability of linked data by providing linkage error-related information to researchers. The results of this study will serve as reference data to increase the reliability of multicenter data linkage studies.PMID:38622936 | PMC:PMC11018984 | DOI:10.3346/jkms.2024.39.e127 (Source: Journal ...

Antimicrobial Use and Carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacterales in Korea: A Nationwide Case-Control Study With Propensity Score Matching
CONCLUSION: The utilization of broad-spectrum antibiotics and the presence of comorbidities are associated with increasing development of CRE. This study emphasizes the importance of antimicrobial stewardship in reducing broad-spectrum antibiotic use and CRE disease burden in Korea.PMID:38622938 | PMC:PMC11018987 | DOI:10.3346/jkms.2024.39.e132 (Source: Journal of Korean Medical Science)

Association between precarious employment and the onset of depressive symptoms in men and women: a 13-year longitudinal analysis in Korea (2009-2022)
CONCLUSIONS: Employment insecurity, inadequate income and lack of rights and protection may contribute to depressive symptoms. Therefore, PE serves as a significant social determinant of mental health among workers in Korea. Active policy efforts are warranted to improve the overall quality of employment in the workforce.PMID:38623756 | PMC:PMC11022256 | DOI:10.1017/S2045796024000258 (Source: Epidemiology and Psychiatric Sciences)

Temporary disability pension recipients: Contextual stress factors and their effect on return-to-work-intention
CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, further research is required to identify possible factors which could predict the stage of RRTW. New interventions are needed that can raise the motivation for and success in the return to work of disability pensioners.PMID:38626789 | DOI:10.1055/a-2244-9958 (Source: Die Rehabilitation)

Barriers to Cervical Cancer Screening by Sexual Orientation Among Low-Income Women in North Carolina
Arch Sex Behav. 2024 Apr 16. doi: 10.1007/s10508-024-02844-2. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTWe sought to examine cervical cancer screening barriers by sexual orientation among low-income women in North Carolina. The MyBodyMyTest-3 Trial recruited low-income women (< 250% of federal poverty level) aged 25-64 years who were 1+ year overdue for cervical cancer screening. We compared perceptions of cervical cancer screening among those who self-identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or queer (LGBQ; n = 70) to straight/heterosexual women (n = 683). For both LGBQ and straight respondents, the greatest barriers to screening wer...
