Would it look bad on a resume to quit a full time job at CVS if you immediately start multiple PRN hospital positions?
So I work at CVS and hate the current situation I'm in at my store. Would it look bad on my resume to quit CVS and start multiple (2-3) PRN hospital positions? Yes, I'm aware they would not come with health insurance and benefits. There aren't any good full time options open right now. I am open to purchasing my own health insurance and I am good with budgeting so I am okay with a lower income for a time. I just don't want my resume to look bad based on how competitive the market is right... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Opening a multi-provider clinic
So I'm thinking of trying to open a clinic with the intention of growing it to include multiple therapists, physicians, IOP offerings, etc. Anyone with experience here that can shed some light on how to get started or what to look out for? I'm in the very early phase of trying to educate myself on how to do this, so forgive my naivety. Also what's the best way to attract and find therapists? Should I get on insurance panels before trying to find staff? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is there a website that provides this information? Is it broken down by insurance, or just average of the region? And is it actually somewhat accurate? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Does anyone know if it costs money to become uncredentialed by insurance companies?
I am changing jobs from a practice where I am credentialed with insurance companies to a fee for service practice. To drop insurance companies, is there a fee associated with that? I just want to make sure before finishing contract negotiations. Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Full-time job and full-time post-bacc or quit and find part-time work?
In June, I quit my full-time job with the intention of getting part-time jobs in clinical research and scribing. However, shortly after I quit I was offered a full-time job in my original field (software engineering) and accepted it because the company is pretty chill and I should be able to balance the full-time work schedule with full-time school schedule. Also I live in NYC and having a decent paycheck and health insurance is very helpful. However, I'm quickly realizing that apart from... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Patients keep cancelling outpt visit due to being in IOP/PHP

Is this a good nonclinical volunteering opportunity?
Title says it all. Family has had a personal experience with high healthcare costs and I figured a good way to contribute to greater healthcare equity is by volunteering at the California HICAP program, where I will be helping seniors navigate Medicare, compare insurance plans to figure out how to get the best coverage for their buck, etc. I've heard that nonclinical volunteering should be directed to those less fortunate than myself (food bank, soup kitchen, homeless shelter, etc). Will... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Anyone here who started their own private practice?
How did you get patients? Did you send mailers? Just word of mouth? I’m basically about to start my concierge weight loss clinic. Have only spent maybe $1500 so far and have website 80 percent done, emr is set up with full tele med capability, lab portal is set up. But once i got a quote for malpractice insurance, I’m starting to get cold feet. The quote was for $5600, and that’s in fact for part time practice. And it’s a claims made policy so if i fail at the business or if it’s not... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

1099 income, ballpark on taxes
Trying to figure out about how much I’d take home with a 1099 gig in florida. Could y’all help me? 500k 1099 income per year I’d have to pay: Health insurance (approx 25k per year) Malpractice (approx 35k per year?) 401k (66k per year) Figure these items are deductible and lower my taxable income to approx 374,000. Then I’m plugging this into an online tax calculator and putting 374k in as my 1099 income, my tax liability is about 105k. Is this about right? thanks! I toss around the idea...
